I just tested my spark plugs, and two of them are not sparking as bright as the other two. The car just recently ran out of gas. I replaced the fuel filter. The fuel pump IS good. NO fuel regulator leaks. MAP sensor is good. Put a new temp. sensor in it. And a new clutch. This didnt start happening until i ran out of gas. Also, It boggs down BAD at low RPM's. Please help!! Thank you. I will rate whoever answers this. :)

Well, you can try lightly sanding the contact point ( where the spark is inbetween the gap). If that doesent help at all, just to be certain that there is another issue, take one of youre good spark plugs and insert into the wire where the spark isnt as bright, if it is still looking the same than consider replacing youre wires or the coil that runs those spark plug wires.

(if engine is good, not overheated )
its only 1 of 2 things.
lost spark (do a spark test using , yes, a test good spark plug)
if spark is good on all cyl
then check fueling, if spark plugs not soaked in fuel (tips)
then try test fuel.
if soaked, the op guide says, hold throttle fully open (depressed 100%) this cuts INJECTIONS 100% and you start a flooding motor)

I've tested my coil by simply placing a spark plug at the end of the plug wire and ground it to the engines ground and by turning the key I looked for a bright blue spark to see a amber spark instead

well if it starts with starter fluid then you need to change the fuel pump and fuel filter, if it had anything to do with spark it would not start with starter fluid.

I just tested my spark plugs, and two of them are not sparking as bright as the other two. The car just recently ran out of gas. I replaced the fuel filter. The fuel pump IS good. NO fuel regulator leaks....

it could be many things. Do you have any engine lights on? It could be a fuel pump going bad, two bad(clogged) injectors, blow fuses, a bad ecu,bad o2 sensors...etc. These cars are known for have expensive problems. Try to get to autozone and have it scanned, see if you have any codes, it will narrow the search down to a minimum. Try a can of seafoam(autozone, ace). It may help and its a cheap start.

2002 Sunfire with 2.2 ECOTEC Car acted like it ran out of gas. Would crank, run roughly a few seconds, then again acted like it ran out of gas. The next day and the next 3 days it has performed...

have the fuel pressure and volume tested with a gage.this sounds and acts like a fuel pump problem.check the fuel filter as well and replace anyways.when it won`t start but cranks can you hear the fuel pump running.listen at the fuel filler neck with the gas cap off.if you can`t listen under the car at the fuel tank you should hear it running/if not hit the gas tank and if the car starts then the pump needs replacing.you should check to make sure you are getting spark at the spark plugs to eliminate an ignition problem but i think its fuel.

My daughers 1999 altima ran out of gas, we put gas in it, & it still wont start, we replaced the rotor cap & spark plugs, it getting plenty of fuel but still wont start, what can it be?

Hello you will need to replace the spark plugs you quoted it is getting lots of gas so your spark plugs are wet.disconnect your battery while your replacing your spark plugs once finished replacing the spark plugs reconnect the battery now try to start it should start up.

Ran out of gas. replaced gas and now it will turn over but not start. even with a shot of starter fluid. like there is no spark

no spark is easy to test -- take out one of the plugs , hook back up to plug wire and ground it out to the engine ( holding it with a pair of insulated pliers ) have a helper turn over the car while you look for spark. if you have spark then I would say that you sucked up some debris from the bottom of the tank when you ran empty -- could also be water in the line from condensation in the tank from over the years ( ? ) -- could be a plugged fuel filter also.

Car wont stART.TURNSOVER BUT WONT start

Pull a spark plug after trying to start it, and sniff the plug. If it smells like gas, you are getting fuel. Then check for spark. First leave the gas to dry off the plug. Then with heavy gloves on, or holding the metal body of the plug to the engine block with it plugged into the plug wire, have someone crank it while you look for a bright bluish spark between the electrodes on the plug. If nothing, your problem is ignition rather than fuel. Good luck. Again, make sure the gas has dried from the plug before you try this, and make sure to hold the plug and wire with something insulated. It will give you a serious shock if you don't!

2004 Kia Sedona wont start but i can hear starter.

if the starter is revving very slowly it is the battery, charge battery. if not, It can be three things happing. 1 no spark 2 no fuel 3 no crank signal or the car computer is bad- you will need to unplug one of the spark wires and remove the spark plug and put the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, and touch the spark plug on any metal on the car and have some start the car. donot touch the spark plug itself and see if there is a spark. if spark is bright, then it is not spark plug and wires but if no or spark is not bright, check the spark plug wires by applying a little bit of water on the spark plug wire and take a 12v test light, connect the clap to ground and and have some one to crank the vehicle, touch allover the spark plug wires with the tip of the test light, if you see spark, replace the wires and change the plugs.. they are not good. if spark is present, check for fuel by removing any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet. if wet fuel pump is ok but if not go look for the fuel pump fuse and relay. is fuse blown, replace, check the relay resistor with a volt meter. it should be around 40 to 80 ohm. if everything is good from this point check the fuel pump itself by disconnecting the connector to the pump and apply 12v and ground using jumper wires or some wires to the fuel pump if you donot hear the pump, replace pump. if you, the crank signal or computer may be the problem
