I test drove 2009 hyundai accent recently. car has 48000 miles already. Some squeaky noise is coming when you apply the break? I am thinking of buying this car. Is this a serious problem?

Hi, squeaky brakes can be as simple as dust from the brake pads ( this can be solved by washing the brakes with a hose pipe quite easy if it has alloy wheels.
If its a constant noise the brake pads could be due for changing which could be normal for that amount of miles( May also need discs ).
I would`nt let that stop you buying the car as they are a good car
I hope i have set your mind at rest

Why 2009 Hyundai accent brake lights on with headlights, off without?

If all the brake lights come on ( including high mount ) with the headlights there is most likely a short somewhere. Have any of the park/brake light bulbs been changed recently. If so a bulb may be installed incorrectly or the wrong bulb application used.

Break lights stopped working in my 2009 accent. Checked fuse and it's good. I think it's the break light switch, but do not know were it is located.

This YM (Year Model) is probably still under warranty. Make the phone call to your nearest Hyundai Service Department & ask the question -- you could get it diagnosed & repaired at no cost. BTW, the switch is located under the dash at the articulating arm of the brake pedal.

My 2009 Accent has no oil on dip stick for second time. First time was at 1700 miles and now again at 3700 miles. First time the light came on....the second time the car sounded like an old sew machine....

NOPE!... Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

Squeaky noise when applying breaks

semi-metallic pads can cause noise from glazing over if you are too rough on them, or a crappy pad composition. get some BG brand STOP SQUEAL and apply it to the pads. clears it right up

Transmission problem 1999

just purchased a 1999 hyundai accent, i was told that it needs a tranny because the car would not come out of first gear. but when i test drove it when i bought it, the gears were shifting fine. i put 50 miles on the car and there's no signs of any tranny problems. i checked tranny fluid and it was about 20 ounces low. would this cause this to come out of first gear?

p.s. the car only has 47,000 miles on it.
