My 93 Buick Century is having a problem starting. We had the alternator and battery checked. At first it said the battery and alternator was fine and a week later we had it checked and we were told the alternator is bad and the battery is good. If we disconnect the battery at night and plug it in the morning it starts fine, but if we leave battery plugged in it has a problem starting. Every time I take it to a mechanic they say they don't know what's wrong with it. Please help.

1991 buick century battery light on

Charge your battery and have it tested. Most part stores will do this for you at no cost. I'm leaning towards an alternator issue but it is possible that it could be both the battery and the alternator. Even if it's just the alternator the battery should be fully charged as a discharged battery can damage the alternator.

The car won't start after being turned off for a while. We replaced the battery already and now the new battery went dead. Something is draining the battery down to nothing, but we can't figure out what.

most wiring problems occur at rear of vehicle check for a wire rubbed thru bare on suspension drivers side frame also check wiring around starter and also taillight wiring at back end....if itwent dead siitting there then power drain is on right track it is fine once running alt chargeing proper?
