Question about 1996 Toyota Avalon

Driver side car seat

My wife used my car, and now the car seat wont back, the switch allows the seat to go foward, up, down, tilt up, tilt down but it doesnt go back.

The seat may be too far forward, and when it is at the forward limits, the seat sticks. I get in the seat, and I press the back button whilst pushing hard with my feet against the floor.

Good Day.....is there an way to lower drivers seat. I feel so high driving in car. Have tried all the wheels and levers on side but obviously not doing the right things. Hyundai Tucson 2006.
Hi Viviana Is your seat manual operation if so is there a lever at the side if you lift it up several times it will raise the seat if you push it down several more times the seat should lower just keep pushing it down till the seat is at it's lowest.
If electric the forward most switch at the side of the seat you need to basically toggle in other words press down on the front part of the switch then press down on the rear part of the same switch.
It works as if you tilt the front of the seat down at an angle then you tilt the back of the seat down to match. To bring it back up just do the reverse. Good luck

I have a 2011 Chevy Siverado with power seats. I put the seat all the way down (the height adjusyment)and now I can't get it to go back up. The sitch works it tilts and goes back and forth bu
check the up/dwn contacts in the switch if possible with a multimeter or maybe new replacementswitch. good luck frank'

Driver seat goes foward but not back
Did you check in the track for the seat to make sure there is nothing is stuck in the track.If nothing in the track its either in the switch or in the motor.

My driver seat on my 2005 Chevy Equinox wont go foward, however every thing else works on it. Like backward, tilt ect. Is there a way to fix this without replacing the whole motor??
yes, It could just be the switch when the contacts are set to move the seat forward,

you can get to the wiring block under seat. isolate wiring from motor 1 of three, (middle motor- foward back, front motor - front seat base up / down, back motor - back seat base up /down) does it work of mem. buttons? or when u lean seat foward (entry assist).

The electric seats will not adjust forward or backward. The up and down and recline works good though.
Look on the outside edge of where the seat back and bottom meet.There is supposed to be a spring there that holds a peice against a micro switch.That is what controls the seat so when you fold it foward the seat slides to allow access to the rear seat.The plastic that holds the spring on the one side breaks.If you can find the metal peice and hold it against the switch you will be able to atleast move the seat.

Try pushing back as you work the switch forward and backward. The most likely problem is a stuck runner. Remove the two front bolts and the two rear nuts from the seat legs and tilt the seat backwards to clean and lubricate the runners

I just purchased a 2007 jeep liberty sport
I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty and the smae lever that tilts the seat also moves it forward and back. Press forward or back on the switch. Also check for blown fuse or a loose wiring connector under the drivers seat. Good luck, Techjoel

Power front seats
Before you start beating up thing's , test the electrical circuits. Do you know anything about automotive electrical systems ? How to use a volt meter an a wiring diagram to test for B+ power to the switch an testing the ground .
Does your envoy have memory seats ? Your vehicle has four or more electric motors to control back an foward , up an down etc.. the odds of more then one motor being bad at one time are highly unlikely .
Look under the seat any trash under there keeping it from moving ?
If you have memory seats there is a control module involved in making the seats work . If it has memory seats it could have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .
DTC B1735, B1740, B1745, B1750, B1755, B1760, B1815, or B1820
The seat adjuster switches are inputs to the driver and passenger seat modules. The seat modules supply the adjuster switch assemblies with a battery positive switch supply circuit and monitor the switch signal circuits. In an inactive state the switch signal circuits are floating and when a switch is pressed the signal circuit is closed to the switch power circuit within the adjuster switch assembly. When battery voltage is present on the switch signal circuit the seat module determines the switch status to be active.

Use a hammer and tap each of the travel rails on seat, this worked great for me, something just gets misaligned in there.
