1991 Lexus LS 400 fuel gauge reads empty, even when tank is full.

You have to drop your gas tank, pull out the fuel pump, and there will be a lever looking piece on the fuel pump. Thats the float. It is supposed to float on top of the gas that way your gas gauge will have a clear reading. BUT if its stuck to the bottom of the tank, then your gauge won't work. Also, there is an electrical wire that sends it's reading to the gas gauge. Make sure its hooked up to the fuel pump as well. Hope this helps, AND PLEASE RATE THIS.
