Use 10w30 oil. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Pour in 4.5 quarts of oil and start the engine, letting it run for 1 minute. Shut off and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add enough to fill it to the full mark. You now know the capacity

Changing Oil '04 GMC Envoy XUV
Guessing that this Truck has the V8???? Slide up underneath. The Drain plug is the Bold Closest to the Front and will be at a Slight Angle. There is one farther back But, This one is the Tranny. The Filter is Right around the Same area as the Drain Plug for the Oil. Just look up and you will see it.
