This is an old post...but it happened to me today. Electrical works, but car will not start. I disconnected the battery cables (both) and touched the positive cable to teh ground cable hopefully trying to discharge the codes. Left it alone for a few minutes and reconnected the cables. The car started immediately?? Yes...I will now keep a 10mm wrench in the car for next time.

You can programm the new remote key for VW Routan 2009 only using suitable diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. I suggest you to go to a VW dealer for this job. Good Luck!
