I would check the turn signal switch. The cruise and turn signal are on the same switch. The brake lights go through the switch before going to the brake lights. And the turn signals don't work with the ignition off.
If the problem is no crank, could be the security system, key switch, neutral safety switch, starter, cables, or battery. I would check for power at the starer and work back. Did you try it in neutral ?
CHECK UNDER THE CAR AT THE TRANSMISSON AND YOU WILL SEE A MEDAL ROD WITH AN ADJUSTMENT SLEAVE AND THIR IS A COTTER KEY THAT IS NOTORUS OR BRAKEING OFF AND IT BINDS THE SHIFT SO YOU CANT CHANGE FROM GEAR TO GEAR
sounds like there is a vacuum leak somewhere, when the brake is depressed and the car shudders or surges its because the brakes use a vacuum system a few things do, if any one of them has a leak the whole system suffers, just need to check all the vacuum hoses and reconnect the one thats off.
