I had the same issue on my '01. I hoped the issue would just go away, but when it didn't I took it into the dealership. They found a sensor that had gone bad and replaced it. Fortunately, it was not engine-threatening. As I understand it, oil lights are not designed to tell you if your oil is low, it usually means your pressure is low, which could mean a compression issue. Better get it checked out soon if you haven't already. You may want to find a good auto repair shop (I found one on cartalk.com) rather than taking to the dealer.

Had the same problem with my 04 Try using a better brand of oil like mobil. Mine came on when i was using cheap walmart brand oil. Using mobil it has never came back on. Oil pressure is sensitive to oil on this because it runs on low 13 psi max.

Oil pressure and oil level are 2 different things, is this the oil pressure warning light that comes on? If so then the oil pressure sensor may be bad if there is no engine noise. I would have the oil press checked with a mechanical guage though just to be safe, engines cost big $$$$

Oil Change two weeks ago and oil level is low already???

I assume you have no leaks as you say. Your van does hold 5 quarts of 10w30 oil with filter change. The level was 1/4" above the add mark, which is less than 1 quart low. You drove the van 1,300 miles so it is very possible that it could burn that much oil in that many miles without you seeing much smoke. Top it off and have someone else drive it. Have them get up to around 60 mph, then let off the accelerator and let it coast down to 30 mph, then accelerate fully while you follow in another vehicle. If your van is burning oil you will see a big puff of blue smoke when they accelerate after coasting. If you do not I would suspect you were cheated out of about 1/2 quart of oil. You would not be the first person this has happened to. Top it off and check as I described and then check the level after driving another 1,300 miles. If it is still full find another place to change your oil as the place you went are crooks.

Oil fill light

i am pretty sure the oil light comes on when the key is turned to the ON position, then goes out after it starts (providing oil quantity is not low). if it stays on after it starts, then may be an issue with sending unit.

mention it to the dealer when you take it in and they should be able to further diagnose.

BTW, what service is it going in for is oil service was performed 5000 miles ago?
