Truck ran fine yesterday, but today it starts, but it won't stay running. It acts like it isn't getting fuel as it stutters then dies. Gas tank is full.

It could be the mass air flow sensor. Its mounted to the side of the air cleaner. Just unplug the electrical connection to bypass the unit. If this is the problem the vehicle should run smoothly.

1991 Ford Ranger, stuttering and turning off. Check engine light and battery light.

This could be caused by a variety of problems. If fuel injected I would start with a cleaning of the throttle plate assembly to insure minimun idle air flow is achieved. Does it run rough at idle or misfire? You may have developed a vacuum leak. Check for any loose or disconnected hoses under the hood. You could also have the onset of an ignition module failure. This condition is very hard to diagnose without lookinf at the vehicle. Hope this helps

The truck runs fine. I come to a stop light, and

Fuel Filter-clogged. Fuel Pump binding mechaniclly or low volume. Are you sure you have no stored codes and do you really know from a very technical description what diagnostic work was done by your guy? Is it under warranty, I assume not ,if you r Dealer wasn't involved
