try using the scan tool to reset the ECM program
code p 2104 refers to throttle actuator control(TAC) system---forced idle mode ===causes ---wiring--TAC motor ---APP ensor--ECM
code p 2112 refers to throttle control actuatorTAC system---actuator stuck closed ===causes ---throttle body, throttle valve tight/ sticking
or TAC system--circuit malfunction===causes wiring short to positive ---short to ground ---throttle position sensor--- ECM
Sorry to say, But... This is why you don't let parts stores read the codes and you buy parts replace them them, and they are good. Even garages do this. I do this at home. Your problem could be the APP sensor, the throttle body module, wiring , or the PCM. Find a new shop.
Check the wiring to the throttle body, check the supply voltages as well. Check fuses too, it sounds like it received a voltage spike and then lost voltage and is now forcing limited rpm.
all the codes point to throttle body. clean throttle body, especially around throttle plate. check for loose wires, if problems persist. replace throttle body. p2104 is tac system forced idle, p2111 is tac system stuck open, p2112 is tac system stuck closed. clean throttle body good, and see if this fixes it. then go from there. have a good day !!
usaully the iac is the problem this is the idle speed control valve it sticks it burns or you have a vacume leak making it not work if you have a scanner to check codes it will code for something easy take hose off the entrance to throttle body clean with clean rag the pallet it will be black and then unplug the iac valve located bolted to the throttle and whatch what will happen if it stalls or idles up higher after starting
Hello! Fail safe mode is when the vehicle's computer detects a serious problem an allows you to "limp" off the road or highway safely.
Fail safe mode on a Jaguar is mainly caused by a dirty and gummed up throttle body. The throttle body on your auto has a protective coating, so you can not use just any cleaner. It requires a throttle body cleaner that states "safe to use with a protective coating". The butterfly valve in the throttle body will actually "stick out". This causes fail safe mode to kick in reducing the amount of power your engine can produce.
Also check the plugs on your ECM (computer) and make sure they are all seated properly.
fail safe mode is something the vehicle computor will go into when there is a problem with the vehicle it allows u to get off the highway or road safely you need to take vehicle to repair shop or your dealer which ever u prefer
Failsafe engine mode on a 2000 jaguar s type is caused by a stopped up throttle body. Jaguar says not to clean the throttle body since it has a protective coating to help keep deposits from accumulating. You can clean the throttle body as long as you use ONLY throttle body cleaner that states it is safe to use with a protective coating. The butterfly valve in the throttle body will actually stick not allowing air to flow into the manifold causing failsafe engine mode to kick in reducing the amount of power your engine will produce. To solve the issue just clean out your throttle body, it will cost you around $5 dollars and take 1 hour of your time.
