I don't know what kind of 1999 carerra you are talking about; I have a 1999 carrera convertible, and both the front and engine hoods are opened when pulling on the appropriate lever next to the drivers seat. No fuse/solenoid involved. Lew Andersen
The location of the trunk "handle" is on the left bottom side of the driver's seat where you'll see an image to "lift" the bar to open the trunk which in the front of the car on a Porsche.
Behind the passenger side wheel covers, up towards the front bumper, is a stainless steel braided cable with a loop. Pull this to manually open the trunk. It is well hidden and an emergency solution to opening the trunk if the servo has failed, your fuse box power connection fails, or you have no power. Good luck
open the trunk remove panel .i wear lether gloves bad bulbs brake in your fingers.front pop hood turn counterclockwise or pol to remove bulb.if water gets to it it will blow .it will look a funney coler.
if you can lower the back seat, you should be able to get your hand in far enough to get at the latch. you'll need a flashlight. some cars have a pull cable in the trunk also which would be even easier. good luck
