What is the best way to store an XJ8 on a 6 month basis yearly? I am thinking of the air suspension system in particular.

The air suspension will go into default mode after 30 days and the entire car will lower.I suggest that you at lease drive the car for a few miles every week.

SOURCE: very noisy squeky fron suspension on jaguar xj8

You might need a lube job or you may need to see if noise is coming from another place such as your engine water pump, brakes, power steering. Look for leaks.

If a air ride control module is bad will the service light come on or suspension light come on. How can i test the module to see if its bad. compressor comes on and shocks fill with air. Thank you

What make model and year vehicle ? Some light should light on the insturment cluster . Plus DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes would be stored in the control module . Hooking up a scan tool that can pull these type codes and seeing if the module will talk with the scan tool is how to test . If compressor comes on and shocks fill with air. The module isn't bad . If you think something is wrong with that system , your best bet would be to take to a qualified repair shop.

1995 lincoln towncar air bag trouble: How do I reset system after code 12 repair. showing code 52 now.

Are you sure it's a code 52? I'm not seeing a 52 in the code index. Btw, code 12 is that the system passed it's automatic test. You could continue the chase to fix the air, but on a 20 year old car, it maybe a good idea to do an air suspension conversion on your Town Car and be done with it forever. Looking for a 66 lincoln suspension diagram

I owned a 1966 Lincoln Continental for years, and there is really nothing unique about the standard suspension (front A-Arm & ball joint, rear coil spring with swingarms). All parts are typical of suspensions of full-size vehicles in that era.
Is yours an early air-ride system? If so, there are many Lincoln forums that can help you diagnose and repair the system.
Best of luck to you!

What are the warning signs, if any, when the leveler (rear air suspension) is about to go out?

If a slow air leak has developed in either an air bag or in any of the tubing (there's a lot) or in the valve at the air pump, you will hear the air pump running more often.

Eventually, the pump will be unable to raise the car to the required height (working against the leak) within the time-out period (about a minute) and then it will give up, stop pumping, and a light on the dash will come on indicating an air suspension problem (or maybe on your relatively newer car, the digital dash may show an error message - I don't know).

I've had an '88, a '91, and a '94. Both the '91 and the '94 had air suspension faults at various times, and none of them were air bag leaks. I've had the valve at the pump stick and/or/leak on both cars, and the tubing spring a leak on one as well. Apparently the air bags are pretty well made and don't fail as often as the other components (in my experience).

The air bags when out......is it better to buy them new or just add the suspension?

Your best, with a Continental or Lincoln Navagator, to just
replace the air suspension with conventional shocks/struts,
after your vehicle is about 8 years old and you have put
time and money into previous air system problems

Strutmaster you hear a lot of and there has to be others

Hey the rear of my car is siting low,can i add air?

the airbag suspension system is busted, air is to be added by the compressor everytime you start the car or a person sits in it. the compressor, check valves, seals, and all the other parts of this system can and do go bad, one right after the other. the only real fix is to gut that system and replace with standard shocks and springs. check out the parts cost on strutmasters.com and think about the labor, then think about the price of a replacement vehilce a few years newer. never have another air suspension system car, even if it is a BMW that someone gives you.

I think that my 1998 Cadillac air suspension system is going bad

I had a problem with my '98 Deville. I had a lot of issues with the air shocks and all the other electronic stuff that goes with that. I called the dealer, and they wanted $3500 to fix it!!! I found www.Strutmasters.com and they converted my car to a "passive" suspension, which bypassed that whole computer thing. Now I have a lifetime warranty, and I am VERY satisfied with the ride. The best part is that it only cost $800 and I got all new suspension! I highly recommend them for your vehicle!

Lexus ls 400 air suspension stop working

If this light is flashing, there is a problem somewhere in your air suspension system. You can check to make sure its powered on in the trunk on the driver side. Behind the carpeting. This is a common issue with that particular year and model. The system tends to go bad righ around the 15 year old mark or so. Also if the light is flashing, the system is not working. Your just riding on the regular suspension.

Hope it helps

97 range rover air suspension problem

Yes, I have worked on these for years, the airshocks get old and seep, weather cracks and wear when they get bad they will burn up the pump, there are several solutions, I have removed the air valves and put stop leak in them and been able to get an extra year out of them, your best bet is to replace the air shocks before they burn your pump up. In my opinion.
