Sounds like you have a plugged heater vent tube, this is on the lower passinger's side firewall. You can usually clean the junk out with a small wire, carfull, water will pour out !

Looks like a Body Control Module communication issue.
Windshield Washer
When the washer switch is pulled towards the driver, the SASM sends the washer request to the BCM over the LIN. The BCM activates the windshield wash relay (internal to the BCM) and sends a message to the driver side windshield wiper motor. When the BCM activates the windshield wash relay, voltage is provided to the washer pump, directing washer fluid to the windshield. When the switch is released, the windshield wiper motor continues to activate the windshield wipers for 3 additional wipes and then turns the windshield wipers off.
Carpet wet on passenger side is likely a plugged drain for the a/c evaporator. It should drain on the ground out a small, short rubber hose sticking out of bulkhead on pass side. Or a poorly seated grommet for the evaporator drain. Also check the rear washer hose if it goes through the cowl area to the back wiper.
Hi, look at this way ,,,, it's wet on both sides on the inside of cabin. Gravity being what it is , check the heater cowling below the heater matrix for (water) dampness. On a bad day there are only two hoses coming thru the engine bulkhead ,,, to the heater matrix , so do the maths yourself . A pressure tester will expose any weak / vunerable hose connection. check the bulkhead area under the wipers. the scuttle panel has a drain hole & tube that ducts rain water away but can become blocked by dirt and leaves etc, then the water builds up and flows backwards over the edge and down the back of the dashboard via the bulkhead joints. A knitting needle or welding rod can be used to poke the hole clear then test by pouring a small amount of water through the grille beside the wipers and ensure it runs away and does not sit.
Also check your coolant level, if it is down then the leak may be from the heater matrix inside the car, this is more difficult to fix and needs the dashboard removed in a lot of cars.
The 3rd possibility is a leaking windscreen surround. Silicone would fix that, get the black stuff and put a thin bead around the outer edge of the windscreen rubber and smooth neatly with a wet finger or cloth.
Well, you are on the right path; the rubber seal around the windshield could indeed be deteriorating...what may be happening is the water is coming through the cowling and pooling up on the seal there...as the water sits, the seal deteriorates and eventually you will see water like you are now.
My recommendation to you is to take your Edge to a shop and ask them to look for a leak at the bottom seal of the windshield.
I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.
