The negative chord for the battery is off but when i put it on and tighten it the alarm goes off. The alarm is very sensitive and even when the car is open and im inside it goes off with just a small movement. I waited for the alarm to stop to put the key in the ignition. I tried to start the car but it wont start. I drive a 95 civic lx sedan how can i fix this problem?

There is a over ride switch that is hidden there it should have a red or black tab on it it is small look under the dash on the under console when you find it press and hold and crank the engine there youll be find it and have some one adjust the sensitivity or if you want just remove the whole alarm

The alarm and immobilizer needs to be reset. It is not as straightforward as normal. You may need an auto locksmith.

Turn ignition on and every thing goes dead...leave it a while and lights and stuff come back on till I hit the ignition again

Check your battery connections for corrosion. Take off the negative and then positive connection to the battery. Clean the posts and terminals. You can use baking soda mixed in hot water to clean them. Be careful not to get the solution near the vent caps. Once clean put the positive terminal on and tighten. Then put on the negative and tighten. Check the battery voltage with a volt meter for more than 12 volts, 12.6 is normal. Try to start the car

1995 Jeep Grand cherokee limited V8, Won't start. engine cranks just fine, good battery. 12+volts to the coil. Doesn't seem to have any pressure in fuel rail after cranking. Picked up jeep yesterday...

hi, this could be you have not reset the ALARM, when you toke the battery off. please undo the NAGATIVE lead OFF the BATTERY and hold the battery lead ON (for 2 seconds) then take battery lead OFF. you will hear the ALARM make a funny noise (this resets the alarm), put the battery lead ON again and the alarm should SOUND then tighten the NEGATIVE LEAD TO THE BATTERY. if not you need to get the ALARM TO SOUND, need to undo battery NEGATIVE and do the same as above. there is a knack to it. then this will work. THE SYSTEM IS LIKE THIS FOR SECURITY RESONS. gerry
