Dynamic Stability Control....a derivitave of ABS / Traction control. The control unit that monitors the dynamics will most likely be sensing a difference in the measured wheel speeds. Possibly defective ABS sensor, wiring, ABS exciter ring, ABS module or steering angle sensor. Can also be triggered by wheel spin.
Have a diagnostic scan done ( cost £30 - £50 approx at good local garage) to read the fault codes first. If you get a fault code relating to "ABS module pressure sensor" the module requires replacement (common issue). Used to be a £1400 job, but repair kit now available from dealer for £180 ish and 2 hours to fit.
SOURCE: hi, x 2 warning lights came on tonight on my 2001
These lights indicate you have an ABS fault as the DSC needs to see a signal from the wheel speed sensors, One of the wheel speed sensors will have failed, find someone with a scanner to determine which one, then replace faulty sensor and reset light

Have you ever had the vehicle's diagnostic codes checked? Do you have any paperwork they gave you? DSC can be anything from a steering sensor, to your ABS.
5020e and 5024e codes, just had 2 pressure sensors changed, £80 each, seems to have solved the problem, far better than £1000+ first quoted, luckily i have external sensors not internal. BMW in Colchester very helpful.
