Buick 1990 Riv; stalls unpredictably; cold, hot, warm, running or not running may not start; engine turns over; no spark; good crank and cam sensors, and signals; when stalls and no start condition, high speed pusher fan starts, near ICM; and 11 volt signal on the fuel injection control wire from ICM to ECM with ignition on and no start condition when it should be .08 volts and 6 volts running. Only fault code on cars' OBD, b334c loss communication ecm to bcm. Then fan will go off and it will run for a while. Cleaned ecm and bcm connectors and grounds. new ICM What is this problem?

Check the ECM part number. If it is a 1228253 that is your problem. get a 16198264 the other number does just what your car is doing. I worked at a Buick dealer and know about the problematic 1228253 ecm.

Mine will crank, just wont start. I donot have that ECM. And everything along the ignition has been replaced...sensors, key,ignition...everything

'crank module'? Do you mean 'crankshaft position sensor'.

1985 Mercedes 300d runs great just periodically shuts off going down the road yet cranks right back.

I would say the problem is likely the CKP sensor. Have a shop that can scan for fault codes on this older module run a scan of the system, if the sensor is failing then it should show up as a fault code.

1990 buick riviera cranks but wont start

Check your fuel pressure; if it is within specs, have a muffler shop test your back-pressure from your catalytic converter. There are other things that can cause strange problems like this but it is a process of elimination.

Shuts down going down the road shuts off completely

vehicle shuts down while driving down road and does not start backup for at least 20 minutes, could be a bad crank sensor. if bad it will start and run fine, but it will keep shutting down until fixed.
