There is a fault with the inbuilt heater in the oxygen sensor, before the catalytic converter, on the exhaust pipe the same side of the engine as cylinder 1. The oxygen sensor has four wires within the cable sheath to the top of it. Two of the wires will share the same color. These wires supply power to an internal heating element wire within the sensor. Follow the cable from the oxygen sensor to the connector, you can do a lot testing here. Check the resistance between the two 'same coloured ' wires. The resistance is low, somewhere between 1 and 10 ohms. If there is no continuity (infinite resistance) then this is the fault and the sensor needs to be replaced. The codes: P0030 the oxygen sensor heater relay is at fault P0053 Oxygen heater resistance error P0135 Sensor 1 bank 1 error You are looking at replacement. A further confirmation take the connection from sensor 1 bank 1 and swap it with the sensor 1 bank 2 on the other side of the engine. The codes should 'transfer' and show P0036; P0059 and P0141.

30 is bank 1 sensor 1 heater ciruit, 53 bank 1 sensor 1 heater resistance, 135 bank 1 sensor 1 heater malfunction. I would dare to say that the heater circuit is out on that sensor. Check the wires at the plug before you replace the sensor, they tend to break there.

I have a 1999 chevy tahoe and after my battery died I had a friend change it after getting a new one but now theres a light inside that is on that says change cables what does that mean?

  • There is no check cables light. This is a check engine light. You can try to remove the cables for two minutes and then reattach them and see if this works. More than likely it won't. You will have to go to your local major parts store like Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, NAPA etc and they can scan your PCM for free and pull the codes so they can be crossed and the reason for the code[s] diagnosed.

  • Hope this helps.

2007 check engine light is on. The truck is running great

Getting the car scanned is advisable.Check engine light on?
The check engine light comes ON when the cars computer (the ECU) notices any kind of electrical problem in car. In some cases the check engine light comes on then turns off. In that case the exact error is not getting confirmed so this happens. But once the problem gets confirmed the engine light will remain permanently ON till the problem gets solved. In this case I suggest you to get your car scanned at autozone service center. It's absolutely free. In case in car scanning, if any error code is retrieved then you can check which part is faulty as per the error code.--------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Check engine light is on, motor runs rough, sometimes stalls

Go to Advance or Auto Zone and have them run an obd scan on it and it will pin point why your light is on and could solve your problem. This is often done for free.

When i put my 2007 chevy tahoe in fwd the service fwd message comes on there is no problem with the fwd it engages and disengages but the message stays on

Per your discription, it sounds like the functional portion of the system is OK, however the diagnostic circuit has a problem. Take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advanced Auto for a code scan and let me know what they are. We can go from there.
