I have a 2000 Volvo S80, I recently noticed the oil was a little low so I added a couple quarts. I drove a little ways and I parked my car and next time I started it, white smoke was pouring out of the exhaust. It didn't have a sweet smell, it smells more like burning oil. I am not loosing any coolant, but the car does heat up fast but doesn't seem to overheat. I have not been driving the car because there is just so much smoke coming out of the exhaust. I have 115,000 miles on the car and feel like I should get more out of it than this. Engine sounds fine, I have backed the car up and pulled it up to see what will happen and white smoke continues to pour out, with the awful smell. Is this a cracked head or gasket problem?

Toyota corolla oil leak

The fact that you are adding a quart of oil to your car doesn't mean that car have a leak, most of the time engines are leaking oil is noticeable, on the side of the engine block or black spot on parking lot. Engines also consume oil after certain amount of miles depending on models. I don't think your car acting up have anything to do with the quart of oil you are adding to your car once a month. Please specify what exactly is your car doing when you say; is acting up, so we can help you out to solve that issue.

How many quarts of oil do I need to put in Toyota celica 1983, it's real low

Your 1983 Toyota Celica takes 4 quarts with new filter,Since your just adding,it depends what is showing on the dip stick, you say it's real low, which it probaly will take a least a quart, then add that and wait a few minutes to get to oil pan, then check dip stick twice and if still low, open another quart and add a fourth and check, add more if needed, then after you have drove, park, let sit, then check. If you add to much, there's a drain plug at oil pan underneath,You can go to Autozone and buy oil and ask if they will add, they will do it for free.

2000 Mitsubishi eclipse the oil light came on and my car shut down. I added 1 quart of oil and it was full but the car still won't start.

The oil light does not indicate the car is low on oil (based on your discription) it indicates the oil pressure is low, the no start is most likely due to this low pressure and the fuel pump has been cut off to prevent damage to the engine from low oil pressure. Please have a shop locate the cause of the low oil pressure warning and repair it as needed. It could be a false light or a real one, which means if you drove it very far you may have damaged the engines bearings.

Emergency fuel door release for 2000 Volvo S80

Copied from Volvo Forums

I had a similar problem w recently bought 2003 S80.Several points: 1) Access your locking selonoid through the trunk interior panel ... loosen a few hex bolts and slide out for maintenance; 2) I fixed my lock by simply using light teflon-based oil (like for bike chains). I exercised it a few times and it works beautifully; 3) Not sure on your model, but gas door on the '03 unlocks when you push the associated release button under the headlight control switch. It is not designed to unlock w the key (again, check owners manual for your year). Hope this helps. master_pre08-04-2007, 09:35 AMYeah, the fuel door on my 2000 S80 is connected with the door locks. In order for it to open you have to unlock all the doors to the car. Sssnake08-14-2007, 03:39 PM Thanks Guys,

I removed the locking mechanism and applied a little silicon graphite and now it works like a charm.

VOLVO S80 "FALSE" ENGINE OVERHEATING OR IS IT

That sounds like a thermostat. Usually not an expensive problem, but one you want to address soon. Right now, it's convinced that the engine is hot, and is wide open. It could easily flip to thinking that the engine is cold and stick closed. THEN your radiator WILL boil over.

My 2003 g35 infiniti won't start oil low

I really doubt if your motor siezed up while sitting there. But your battery could have gone dead, or your stater may have locked up, or a battery cable is loose or dirty.
