2005 Honda Accord Hybrid. We suspect the AC cluch relay is sticking intermittently, causing the 12v starting/acc battery to drain. We cannot clearly identify the proper relay in the box under the hood and we need to get the correct part # to order a replacement. Also, do we just pull the relay out with pliers? thanks so much, I've searched the internet for 2 straight days trying to find this info and the dealer won't help me over the phone.

The relay is in the box under the hood. See circuit diagram below. One way to check if the relay is stuck on is to pull the fuse (fuse 12) and run a 12vdc test light across the fuse socket terminals. If it lights up, the relay is closed. The relay pulls straight out of the box. If it is a 4 prong relay, it can go in either way that it fits.

SOURCE: 2005 Honda Accord headlight replacement.

For the driver's side headlight, yes, the battery must be removed to change the headlight. There are three screws but they don't have to be removed, just loosened enough to where the bulb can rotate ninety degrees to pull out. Be prepared to reenter the radio code as disconnecting the battery will cause the radio to electronically lock out. The radio code can be found on the security card or inside the user's manual if you're lucky.

Sounds like a fuse for the DC-DC convertor to battery circut or the DC-DC convertor. Check the fuses under the hood but DO NOT attempt to fix the convertor yourself because there are LETHAL amouts of voltage in the hybrid drive system.

SOURCE: car brake lights won t turn off when car is shut down 1996 Honda Odyssey

It should be your brake light switch. There is a little plate welded to the arm of the pedal that has a hole with a rubber stopper. The rubber stopper is most likely missing, or damaged. You should be able to take a flashlight and see the plate and the switch. If the hole is plugged up, you will need the brake light switch, if not, replace the plug.

1994 honda accord ex change main relay and fuel pump it starts then relay starts to chatter the dies any ideas ignition switch is fine

Make sure the black wire from the relay socket is well grounded. Then check the voltage on the red wire with the key on. If the voltage is less than battery voltage or is intermittent, suspect the ignition switch. If both of those are good, the pcm may be shutting off the pump. Is the engine light on?

Can my light relay have something to with the start of the engine on a honda accord 1994?

I don't think that your light relay may cause this issues. The relay does not function in any way to start up your car. It may be something else like busted fuse, MAF sensor, drained old battery etc.

My 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid alarm system is no longer responding to the remote control after changing the battery in the remote control. Any ideas on what might be the problem.

Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key to see if it will reset the security system.
It is possible a relay could cause this...there are many relays and computers in this hybrid system

Honda code P0A7F

I have a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid and have had hell with it. I have also learnt much about it too.

One thing bad about the HCH2, is that the 12V battery controls the electronics, and the Hybrid battery charges the 12V battery. However the 12V battery is not charged all the time, and cannot be charged when the IMA is usually being used, and in different scenarios. (Buy a Electronic volt meter which plugs into the 12V adapter $14 Walmart))

It is possible that the 12V battery is being drained while driving and caused a voltage drop which can cause your problem. In your case, I would change the 12V battery anyway as they do not last long on Hybrids. (You may have to get Honda to trip the IMA warning lights.) In my case, changing the 12v battery helped the hybrid battery as it was the electronics reporting the charge level wrong.

Depending where you live, you will have a minimum 80,000 mile warranty on the hybrid battery.

My 1997 Honda Accord 4cyl. condenser fan began to run continuously (even after engine was shut off) after cycling the A/C temp. selector from hot to cold. I disconnect the condenser fan to avoid draining...

Sounds like the AC relay/switch is sticking on sometimes. Locate and swap this relay. Look at your fuse box lids for location or search online for the exact location. You also might have a leak in the ac lines or the AC condenser clutch is not engaging to kick the ac on. You should feel a slight power loss or hear a slight stutter in the engine when pressing your AC switch. This means everything kicked on. It's a millisecond before the ECU realizes this and kicks up the idle to compensate.
