Check the automatic idle control module and valve on the engine.

if it starts if you bypass the relay then replace the relay as it is faulty

the remote some how got deleted from the system whether this is a key fob or a key with buttons on it you must go through the programming sequence go to 2008 ford focus owners manual you can download it for free for your phone or computer then go to that section and it gives the programming sequence

Probably a short in the wiring for the hands free kit, do you have that option? And yes it will eventually drain the battery!

Why not buy a cheap shop manual, to give you all the information you need to tackle major repairs.

A few of these poster are making assumption's on what model 2008 Focus the question is directed. Actually on a Ford Focus S with a 2.0 liter the caliper is held on by 2 metric bolts.
I believe the caliper housing is held on by a 15 mm bolt, and you might need a 17mm to hold the caliper pins from spinning.
A 2008 Focus has no removable spring, just a spring plate that the brake pad rides in.
Remember to loosen the bleeder line with a 10mm when you compress the caliper to get rid of the excess fluid or take off the cap to the master cylinder, so the pressure will not damage the master cylinder. Make sure and clean the caliper slides with brake cleaner and lubricate them with a good non-petroleum base grease.

Did you change the battery??

If you look very closely there should be a small groove to insert a small flat screwdriver and gently pry the lense out, it has small plastic fingers that lock into the housing. They will pop out with a little force just dont go crazy or they will break. Good luck
