The rear seat removal is covered in the owner's manual on page 3-25.

Here is a direct link to download a PDF Version of the owner's manual.

2003 Kia Sedona Owner's Manual

P.S. If your seats don't operate according to the instructions in the owner's manual, then you have a coonversion vehicle where the seats have been replaced with aftermarket seats. You will have to find out who the conversio company is to get information for your seats. Many coversion type seats are not removable without removing nut/bolts from the floorboards.

i have a kia sedona 2000 it does not tell you how to remove the seats in my owners manual! there are no straps or bars to push or pull. i have just spent 1 hour 20 mins removing them by unbolting them, there are four bolts on each seat and the runners stay in the channels. my kia has the rear bench seat and captain type chairs that turn. also mine is not a conversion!

Jack up vehicle and secure it on a jack stand. Remove the tire, brake caliper, pads and rotor. Remove the large spindle nut on the end of the axle and push the axle through the bearing. Then remove the bolts from the strut where it attaches to the steering knuckle. Pull the axle out of the bearing and the using a pry bar, pop the axle out of the transmission. Install in reverse order of procedure.

Removing 2006 kia sedona captain seats

Ditto for me. My son accidently latched one of the rear latches but none of the others. We could not get it off. We found this answer and tried it and it worked. I lifted on the rear of the seat while he folded the back of the seat down. It released when we did this. Whew

I was removing the rear seat in a Kia Sedona. However, the front clamps (of the seat) got attached to the rear bars and now I cannot get the seat out. Any advice? Thank you.

hi squeeze the bars together and it will release the clips for you. if you need more information someone on this kia forum had the same problem and was given the steps to-do it.

Driver side 2nd row seat is stuck in my 2002 kia sedona

I have had a similar problem. I solved it by keping the seat back raised, get someone to rock the seat back violently while you pull on the balck strap and try and remove the seat. This may not happen 1st time if not spray WD40, and lots of it all over the seat linkages and locking mechanism under the seat.

When you get the seat out turn it upside down and spray with WD40, do this with all the other emovable seats.

How to remove 2nd row bucket seats

The manual says to pull the strap or level and "double fold" it. The first time I tried it, the seat stuck. The trick was to do it as a single motion, fold the chair in half and swing the seat up and forward. Don't fold the back down then pull again to get the seat forward, it just gets stuck.

Cant find the third hook for middle seat belt in the back seat

On rear seat, remove it by lifting it up, then look down there for the missing hook or belt. When replacing the seat, you have to insure all the straps are on the seat before pushing in and down to replace the seat. It just pulls up and pushes down.

Kia Sedona seat stuck

Got it, with the help and eyes of my wife. The rear latch releases as the seat back is lowered. This release is ALMOST seat back down (about 3 inches above the seat bottom). As the seat back lowers, apply constant lift on the rear latch, and it will release as the seat back lowers. Hard-won knowledge - I think I invented some bad words in the process.
