YEP .YOU CAN FIX OIL LEAKS.I WOULD BE REPLACE VALVE COVER GASKETS IF TOP OF ENGINES LOOKS LIKE OIL BEEN LEAKING AROUND SIDES OF THE CYLINDER HEADS.IF TOP HALF OF OF THE ENGINE LOOK OKAY AND NO SIGNS OF OIL LEAKS.LOOK AROUND THE FRONT CRANKSHAFT TIMING COVER AND REAR MAIN OIL SEALS.MOST OF THE TIME THAT WOULD BE YOUR OIL LEAK LOCTION.ONLY TIME YOU NEED A NEW VAN IF YOU ADDING MORE OIL TO ENGINE EVERY DAY OR ADDING OIL MORE TWICE A WEEK.BUT A OIL LEAK CAN BE FIX.LOOK..LAY PIECE OF CARD BOARD UNDER THE CAR UNDER THE ENGINE AREA.CRANK ENGINE UP.LET ENGINE RUN FEW MINUTES. UNTIL OIL PRESSURE BUILDS UP.THEN TURN OFF CAR. LET OIL DRIP ON CARD BOARD THEN MARK IT.IF OIL LEAKS BACK OF THE ENGINE REAR MAIN OIL SEAL LEAKING.IF LEAKING OIL AT FRONT OF ENGINE CRANKSHAFT TIMING COVER SEAL LEAKING.IF OIL LEAKS ON THE SIDES OF THE ENGINE YOUR VALVE COVER GASKETS OR OIL PAN GASKET LEAKING. IF OIL DRIPPING OUT HEAVY WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING.FRONT OR REAR SEAL IS THE MAJOR LEAK PROBLEM..KEEP YOUR EYES ON YOUR ENGINE OIL LEVEL.KEEP PLENTY ENGINE OIL SUPPLYS WITH YOU.IF ENGINE LEAKING OIL REAL BAD DONT KEEP DRIVING GET FIX QUICK.BECAUSE OIL GET DOWN TOO LOW YOU WILL THROW ROD BEARINGS.

The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

Rear seal- 1994 dodge caravan. 3.3 liter V6 automatic

Well to change out a rear main seal on any engine isn't an easy task on that one through a shop probabley 6 hours of labor or so,shop rates vary but I would say labor alone to be at least $250.00-$350.00 and for the seals and gaskets probabley $50.00-$75.00 so if a shop does it your bill should be about $300.00 min.and $425.00 max.

2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

See its well to temporarily hire another car. Its risky to get kids on a faulty car. Their lives are important than the trip. Temporarily fixing is not dependable as the fix may get off and it may become impossible to make it fix again. Think about the kids more. Thank you.

''2000 dodge grand caravan oil leak at crankcase how do i fix it''

How bad does it leak? Most cars eventually leak some. Adding oil now and then is cheaper than fixing a leak if its not too bad.

There are many recalls listed for my 1994 Dodge Caravan. How do I find out if they were fixed before I got it from a previous owner?

If you go to your a dodge dealer they can tell you every recall that has and has not been fix on your van. All they need is the vin number off your van.
