I have a .041 amp drain on the battery in this 1996 Toyota Corolla. When I remove the ECU-B 10 amp fuse the drain goes down to about .007 amps. The car runs with no ill effects with that fuse removed, and I can't see what that fuse is controlling. Can you tell me what that fuse controlls? Thanks. Wayne

The ECU-B fuse supplies voltage directly to the computer (ECM), .041A is 41 milliamps and normal draw for the computer to keep it's memory.

SOURCE: 1996 toyota tercel

there is no repair manual published for the 1996 tercel, not from chilton, not from haynes.

the 1994 tercel and the 1996 corolla are both covered in haynes manuals, that's the closest we can get. both have some of the same systems, gotta pick and choose.

there is an expensive professional repair manual, published by toyota, i think, that's what mechanics buy for shops. it costs hundreds, and is not easy to buy.

SOURCE: Remove the radio from 1997 Toyota Corolla

i have a 97 corolla as well, and i've changed the radio out several times on my own. if you take a small screwdriver and stick it in between the panel that goes around the around the area where the radio is, u should be able to pry it off relatively easy. just be sure to remove the sliders off the AC controls before you do. after you pop that panel off, you just have to disconnect the wiring harnesses going to the clock, hazard lights, rear defroster, and AC button. the radio is bolted in there with a mounting bracket, so you'll have to unscrew that as well. you'll need to unscrew that bracket from the radio you have in there, and mount it to the one you wanna install....hopefully this helps you out. it sounds harder than it really is.

SOURCE: Removing the 100 amp fuse link in a 1994 toyota corolla

the fuse link is bolted in from the two side in the fusebox.you have to un bolt the whole fusebox so you can raise it and if you look at the sides there are two side panels that can be moved down so you can get a socket or spanner on the two bolts apprx 10mm. undo them and raise the fuse out and put the new one in and tighten up the bolts again. hope this helps.

SOURCE: how to take out and reinstall new axle on 1996 toyota corolla,

1. Jack up and support car on jack stand. Make sure to chock wheels and or lock the parking brake on.
2. Remove wheel
3. Remove cotter key, castle lock and nut at center of rotor that attaches the axle. - If you lack and impact gun to remove this - it is easier to loosen this nut with all of the wheels on the ground.
4. Remove outer tie rod from spindle, Tap out with hammer. Should not require much force.
5. Remove the single bolt from the lower ball joint and separate from spindle.
6. Pull axle out of spindle and remove from transmission. This may require you to drive this out with a hammer and punch ( I use a brass punch), make sure not to damage threads if you intend to reuse the axle.

To install reverse the procedure. Make sure to replace any cotter key removed with new ones during install.

Torque specs you need are

Ball Joint to Spindle = 91 ftlbs
Tie rod to spindle = 36 ftlbs
Drive axle hub nut = 166 ftlbs

Rear windowiper and defogger will not work, fuses are ok, have had trouble with battery would this cause these items to not work

Terry, you have something in the circuit related to wiper and defroster electric grid that causes your battery to drain power slowly. . Use an amp meter to check the fuse or relay or switch that is the cause of problem. Remove negative Batt cable from terminal, attach one of the amp probes to the cable end and take the other amp probe and attach to Negative battery terminal. I use a radiator hose clamp to tighten probe onto post. Turn meter on. It will show a certain amount of amp drain on meter. I suspect if Batt takes over a week to drain, your drain would be about .5 or less...Now start removing each fuse and relay until the meter shows ZERO. For pulling relay and fuses you can buy a relay puller or long needle nose type plier with a right angle bend at the very end at auto parts store. $10. When meter goes to zero....look in your booklet you received with truck at fuse box section. If Relay...Replace relay with new one, could have been pushing enough electricity across as if you had switched it on but not enough to cause wiper to activate etc. ALLDATA AT library has schematics diagram to look at all possible switches etc that could be the cause. At least you have it narrowed down to circuit. I have further way to jury rig to bypass problem, but your truck is to new to go down that road. Take to dealer with your info, may be on warranty.

How to remove a broken battery fuse 100 amp from 1991 toyota corolla

On the sides of the fuse box, two bolts are holding the fuse down in place. I believe you need a 10mm socket to remove the bolts. Then, the fuse should slide right out.

What does the 50 amp fuse labeled batt in the fuse box under the hood send power too ? If I dont remove it my battery will drain totally dead over nite. Its in a 1996 chev 1/2 4wd Z71 extended cab

The fuse is the main fuse to the vehicles power supply just the same as removing the battery cable . you have a drain in your electrical system , use a test light , remove the possitive cable from the battery and hook one end to the battery and the other to the cable remove fuses till the light goes off ( make sure all doors are closed and switches turned off) that is your drain source . do no remove the 50 amp fuse in this test .

Electrical problem with my toyota seca corolla AE92

you need a volt meter. unhook the positive side of the battery. set the meter to dc amps. touch one leed to the battery and the other to the positive cable making a circuit.if theres more than 1 amp or so being pulled, that will drain it in time. sart pulling fuses one by one untill the draw goes away.then you will know what circuit it is on. after that ,start chasin wires to find the short.
