The wires to the plugs should not keep the motor from cranking over. If the battery is fully charged the ignition switch should engage the starter. If you think the firing order is wrong you need to determine 1 where is top dead center (the position the motor is in when #1 cylinder is at the top of the compression stroke). 2 what direction does the rotor turn 3 what is the firing order One way to make it easy to rotate the motor is to remove the spark plugs. no compression means no resistance to the starter so the motor should turn over with the key in the start position. If it won't crank over with the plugs out then something is wrong with the starter, battery, starter relay, or ignition switch. I always start with the basics. the battery should have at least 12.5 volts. if it does check the battery terminals. even if the starter is weak you should hear a click when the key is turned to the start position. Once you get the starter to turn over the motor you can tell when the number one cylinder is at top dead center by putting a finger over the spark hole as you crank over. You will feel the compression as the cylinder comes up on the compression stroke. I have used a large socket to slowly turn the motor over and when you are near top dead center you should be able to see the degrees of advance on the timing mark. Set the motor at top dead center then see where the rotor lines up with the wires on the distributor cap. that is where number one cylinder should fire. You then follow around in the direction that the rotor turns and the wires will corispond with the firing order. I always make a mark on the number one spot on the cap with a felt pen. That way you have a fixed reference point. Take care to verify that all the wires are to the proper plugs before trying to start. Take extra care at this point and make sure your firing order and rotor rotation are correct. I would triple check this. The firing order and rotor direction are usually somewhere on the autozone repair web site

Spark plug wires installed wrong

I did this also recently, but I also changed the distributor cap and rotor. THAT was my problem....Distributor screw tabs on distributor are plastic and can break off.....1st...Make sure you installed the wires in the right firing order. If they're correct, check your cap and rotor and make sure they are seated correctly. If the tabs broke off, Napa makes a metal U shaped piece that fixes this.

It has a misfire ,we changed the plugs and the coil pack and wires still has a misfire what else could it be

Gas or compression. Check the injector circuit on 1 and 3. Are they pulsing, to put gas in the cylinders? Do a compression test to rule out loss of compression as cause for the misfire.
Kind of odd it would be 1 and 3, but that is one right after the other in the firing order of 1-3-4-2...so, you have a single coil? So you have a distributor-examine closely the distributor cap and rotor if those were not changed too, with the plugs and wires. Look for damage, little black tracks that indicate shorting of the spark, maybe damage at the electrode tips on the inside of cap on 1 and 3 plug wire towers. Most people change the cap and rotor when doing the plugs and plug wires.
Just a possibility also, that the injector ground wires for 1 and 3 might share the same ground. That is to say, they might splice together before going to the computer where the computer internally grounds injector circuits to cause pulsing. Well, those are my thoughts, good luck. And let me know what you find, always interested.

I changed plugs and wires 96 Gand 4.0L when i was done the truck ran like **** i so i had diagnostics done it gave codes 301-306 (all cylinders missfire ) then i changed the distributor cap rotor and...

301 & 306 are cylinder #1 and #6 misfire. Your spark plug wires are not in the proper firing order in relation to the correct cylinder and distributor locations.

Just changed out my spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Now the car wont start, what is the problem ?

Recheck the firing order of the spark plugs and wires. you might have connected them wrong. Can't tell you the firing order since I don't know what kind, make, or year of your vehicle.

Cannot start changing pugs and wires

Sounds like you have the firing order right but your off on the #1 on the distributer. Every time you get an explosion coming from the carb its misfiring. Find the #1 on dist and continue with firing order

1994 dodge 1500 wont start after changed plug wires

Make sure your firing order is correct. Also if you replaced cap and rotor make sure coil wire isnt loose. If you cant find the firing order its stamped on your intake manifold, cylinder numbers should also be stamped above each cylinder on the manifold.

Wont start after it died one night

The cap should be marked for number 1. The distributor turns clockwise. The firing order is 1-3-4-2.

Vitara misfire 1995 1.6

You can try changing the coil pack and then recheck firing order of the wires to make sure they are in correct firing order. Suggest checking the wires first before spending money on the coil pack. Let me know how you make out.

No spark from plugs. changed plugs, rotor and distributor, cables, and primary coil.

i would start with the basics- did you make sure you followed the correct firing order when you installed your new plug wires? when you changed the cap/rotor did you notice any track marks inside the old cap? was the old rotor burnt/corroded? ive got a 97 ram and the cap is a b*tch to get to being buried in the back, could you have inadvertently moved the rotor off its timing mark? mis-aligned the crank sensor when installing your new cap? i would recheck how the cap was installed, just because you were able to position it proper and tightened down the screws doesnt mean that you didnt accidently pinch the wires on the crank sensor, or turned the rotor off its mark. also when pressing on the plug wires on the cap did you look for the "1" mark on the cap? this is your reference point for firing order. im not sure these are you problems, but rechecking your work to make sure something wasnt knocked off-kilter, or wrong plug wire placement would confirm the problem lies other than what was replaced. i hope this helps
