Question about 2001 Pontiac Bonneville

Open Question

2001 Pontiac Bonneville will not start. I had some wiring problems at connector c201 (next to passanger airbag under dash. This caused me not to get any power to the ignition switch. The connector was burnt up, so I cut all the wires off the connector (male and female side) and soldered ends together. I now have power and dash, radio, heater and everything else works. Problem is....when turning the key to start position, I hear relays click, but the starter does not get power to it. There is a security light that flashes when I insert the key into the ignition. If I turn the key to start and release it, the security light stays on. I have tried a 10 minute reset and also a 30 minute total reset (10min 3times), but does not seem to program the system. This is the passlock 3 system and not sure weather it is the ring or module itself causing the problem. Is there a way to delete the passlock 3 system or add a resistor to meet the ohm value it needs? And if so, How?

SOURCE: My 2002 Grand am is have a passlock problem. The

I discovered the hard way- ($85.00 later) Step 1: turn key to "on" position. step 2: open driver door. (security light should be flashing on and off) step 3: wait ten minutes with key in "on position and driver door open. step 4: when 10 minutes is up-(youll know-because security light will have stoped flashing after 10 minutes) close driver door ,turn key to "off" position, then turn key "on" to start. drives me crazy!! I have to do it to mine sometimes 2-5 times a day! GM doesnt have a fuel reset button etc. like fords do.

there is a way to bypass the system we do it often but you will need to buy a data bypass unit to install in order to bypass the passlock sensor in the dash. Once the unit is installed, it is turned on by inserting the key into ignition, then the unit will send the proper code to the BCM allowing it to unlock the ECM and then car will start.

36 is a code for the drivers side air bag.You may have a clockspring problem, but you will have to take it to some one who can properly diagnose it.

Airbag light on 2001 sonata, also small modular under pasanger seat broken cover, and under driver seat there is a wonnector that does'nt go anywhere. thank's

First the airbag system can be dangerous to work on and it is usually best to consult a professional since to accidental inflation of an airbag can cause injury, do not cut any wires and disconnect the battery when working on the system.
When the airbag light is on it disables the airbag system inmost vehicles meaning if there is a collision the airbags will not deploy. Some autoparts stores can check codes which is where to start with the warning light on and modular connected check the airbag trouble codes with this information it will be easier to diagnose the system and the cause of your problem. I hope this helps

2001 pontiac grand am air bag module reset

Yes!!! You can replace it yourself.(Dont let others fool you into paying extra or telling you otherwise.)
-This is for pontiac grand ams 1999-2005 only.
-There are no frontal airbag impact sensors nor are there belt tensioners.
-The SRS system consists of only the (driver airbag) ,(passanger airbag),and the (airbag control module) in 1999-2005 grand ams.

If you crash/wrecked and airbags deployed you will need.
-Driver and Passanger airbags
-Airbag control module

You can buy cheap airbags from a local junkyard any year from 1999-2005 will fit.
You can also find an airbag control module for cheap at your local junk yard BUT YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH THE SAME (PART NO.) AND (SERV NO.) AS THE ONE YOUR REPLACING.The (part no.) and (serv no.) should be at top left of airbag control module. However it does (Not) have to match numbers under barcode or the numbers at the far bottom right of airbag control module.

After you get both airbags and airbag module
-Disconnect car Battery
-Replace airbags
-Replace airbag module (under passanger seat)
-Double check all connections and connect battery.

Congradulations!Your airbags should be back online.

Notes: Two torx 35 head screws hold the driver airbag, access is through two holes behind steering column.
To remove passanger airbag you have to remove glovebox it uses (7mm)screws.After you remove you will see a pair of (10mm)screws holding airbag.
To remove airbag control module First remove passanger seat 2(15mm).Then after removing you will notice a raises area kinda like a vertical bump.Take a razor blade to your carpet and cut it to explose the module underneath.
The airbag module is held by three screws depending on the year of your car it varies. Most likely 3 (10mm).

Dash says service airbag, no accident, how do i fix this problem?

The light means there is something wrong with one of the airbag deployment sensors, or one of the airbag modules. Take the car to have the computer scanned to find out which sensor or module it is. Some parts stores will perform the scan free of charge.

00/01 Pontiac Bonneville. How do we get off the steering wheel?

Get a repair manual such as Haynes or Chiltons at a auto parts store to walk you through. Once you get the horn button off you will need a steering wheel puller. They sell them too.
I hope my suggestions helps and all the luck to you.

2001 ford focus airbag light blinks 4 times then stops, then starts again.

disconect the battery
locate the airbag wires under the seat
unplug it on both drivers and passanger seat
spray some brake cleaner or de greaser in to the terminals and blow out with air line
re connect plug connectors
re connect battery
if this doesnt work then you will need subtable diagnostics equipment to read the faults on the airbag system

please let me know if this helps you out
cheers

2001 pontiac cowl pack not fireing.

Here is a diagram of the firing order for you 3800 engine. Cylinders 1 and 4 are misfiring because the operate under the same "Coil Pack" and the coil pack has unfortunately gone bad. O'Reilly sells them for between $30-50 depending on the amount of warranty coverage you want. To replace, simply unscrew the screws that hold the coil pack in place. WAIT before unplugging the plug wires. Place the old coil pack and new coil pack next to each other, unplug one plug wire, then plug it to that same port on the new coil pack. then do the same for the other plug wire. Then screw your new coil pack in place, and start you car. should run fine!
