1992 Toyota Previa - dashboard icon on - red exclamation light

The red exclamation light on the dashboard comes on quite frequently when I push on the gas. It typically comes on when I'm stopped at a light and then accelerate...the light comes on then quickly disappears. Any ideas what this means?

I had this, red ! came on briefly around bends and after short stop at lights etc. It was low brake fluid so as it would slosh to one side it would drop below level and display warning. Check and top up asap.

I have the same problem. thought it my be due to a small hole flexi hose on the exhaust. But i just sore the solution posted, and it may well be the back door! as there was a little damage happened to my back door two months ago. I will look at the contacts and report back if this solves the problem.

You should be able to reset all trouble lights by disconnecting the negative side of the battery for 30 seconds. The problem with that is it will come back on if not addressed. It is most likely a sensor in your emissions that is causing this.

TPMS - Tire pressure monitoring system. Check and fill all tires, including spare. If that doesn't make the light go out then you may need to get sensors reset. Or it is a bad sensor.

WHERE IS THE FUSE BOX IN A 1996 TOYOTA PREVIA?
... ALMOST all cars. In the Previa, it's in the top center of the dashboard just above the radio. If you look closely, there is a little tab above the radio that lifts upward and allows the fusebox cover to lift up, revealing the fusebox. Weird place, but actually quite handy.

better check for electriacal problem on the dashboard instumental pannel some comes with fuses for dashboard system check for bulbs they are ok or fused then if fused replaced with new one & for further trouble free solution see for your nearest authorised dealer or authorised service centre so untill then drive safely trouble free driving & do keep on writing for more solution untill then see you sir

Hi Tracey & Paul,
The light could possibly be a service interval or fault, Have you pressed the oil change button through the pin hole on speedo?
If it is a fault light (OBDII) you will need to have a technician who know/has OBD reading device to reset it and give you a diagnosis of problem
