Lets start with the simple stuff first. Look under the car see if its leaking gas possibly from the gas tank or the gas line. Then with the car not running look around the engine compartment and see if you see any gas leaking. Also if the gas smell is stronger in the engine compartment. Look at your gas line especially toward the top of the engine you may spot the leak. I need to caution you if the leak is in the engine compartment and your handy and you can repair it that's excellent. But if you do spot the leak it might be very dangerous to drive the car somewhere. Gas leaks can be very hazardous if they are in the engine compartment. If your not handy then I would recommend you contact your local auto repair shop for repairs.

I hope this helps you out, if it does please give me a YES on the web page you just recieved my response on. Thank you.

Why doses my car smell of petrol now and then when I am driving ?

Chances are the smell is coming from a fuel leak around the engine.
The air vents pull air in from the engine compartment, especially when the car is moving.

SMELL OF PETROL

I would suggest bringing your car to the local Ford dealer and have them repair whatever is necessary to make your car safe. The better thing to have done, and. Out likely cheaper in the long run, is to repair the fuel pump properly the first time instead of creating a band aide repair.

I have a renault scenic 1.4 Dynamique, i find it is consuming alot of petrol. Is there anything i can do to reduce this.I just got a full service on the car and it is still cuzzling petrol!

Hi!
Well if the gas is not leaking, Then might be a problem in the Vacuum system or the Map sensor or leaky injector and Mass Air Flow Sensor. All these things can make your engine consume lot of Gas.
Check the car for any smoke or any vibration or Gas smell. Good luck
