PASS KEY PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY FAULTY IMMOBILIZER READ COIL IN IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY LOCK CYLINDER OR THE KEY WORN OUT OR FAULT IN THE IMMOBILIZER CONTROL MODULE.

A new key with a chip would cost around $75 depending on where you get it. Could be over $100 from the dealer. Changing the battery will not make your old key not work, nor will a new key fix anything unless something happened to the PASS system.
The key resistor that you installed only bypasses the key and ignition aspects of the security system. The theft deterrent module is still active and is most likely your prpoblem. This link explains.
It could be the starter. It could be a bad battery cable connection. Have you tried jump starting the engine. If it starts, then most likely it's to do with the battery or charging system.
you either have a bad key...did you try more than one key?
Two other things can be wrong..
1) the igintion cylnder (where ya put the key in) has samll wires that sense the pellet in the keys for your car, and often they break, and the cylnder has to be replaced.
2) the passkey module has gone bad.
Either of these problems can be fixed by any compatent mechanic that has cadillac experience.
If your security light is on it may be your key that's preventing the car from starting. It's programmed with a code to prevent theft (Pass II theft deterrant system or something like that). So either the key is screwed up or the module that reads it is screwed up - either way it will disable your ignition.
