Looking for the timing mark for a 1992 Mighty Max 2.4L. What is the degree set at with a timing light? Thank you in advance

I recommend changing out your transmission fluid, make sure you replace the screen too. After a vehicle have set for a long period of time it s good to flush all the fluids if you did replace them prior to the vehicle being stored.

When service to the emission control system has been completed slide the switch to the opposite position, turning off the warning light.
If the service was for the 120,000 mile interval remove the warning light bulb.

CAUTION: If the speedometer is to be replaced set the odometer to the same reading as the odometer being removed. (consult your local motor vehicle laws)

put car in nuetral, apply e-brake, turn key on and off three times and it should start to flash the codes

Try looking for a sticker on the underside of the hood. If it's a 2.6, it should be 8 degrees BTDC.

If it is the 3.0 liter V6 there is a notch in the timing belt crankshaft pulley which aligns with a small mark above in the casting at the 1:00 position or so. As for the cams, each sprocket has a dimple in it which aligns with a vetical mark pressed in to the back steel dust covers.

Yes, the engine mounts and bell housings are the same.
The swap should be straight forward, however be sure to swap all the vaccum controls and emission system from the 2.6L.

If not about 5 degrees on most cars.
You need a stob light and chalck to check running.
Vacuum and distributor working properly.

Something keeps draining the battery in my 1992 Mighty Max pick-up. Does anybody have any suggestions?
