Find the spark plug wires and follow them to the end - on one end you will find the distributor or the coil depending on the arrangement - on the other end, you will find the spark plug.

Need a 2005 mitsubishi galant manual

If it is a 4 cylinder, then you will see spark plug wires that connect to the top of the engine, under each wire there is a spark plug. These wires are fairly thick, they are around 1/4 inch diameter. You need to be careful pulling them off the engine so you don't leave behind the boot. If you haven't replaced plugs before, it is a little tricky, so good luck.

Galant won't turn over when trying to start. No spark from plugs. Changed crank sensor and timing belt and still won't start. Any suggestions

you now need to check for 12 volt power, and signal to the coil, also be sure all you timing marks are correct, if you have no spark, unplug one of the injectors and using an led test light check for injector pulse power across the two terninals while cranking, if you have no injector pulse then you could have a problem with the ignition passlock system, or key decoder

90,000 engine service what do u change

In a word...everything!

First and foremost replace the timing belt, all of the Galant engines are interference engines meaning that if it fails you will sustain severe damage to the engine. If your at 90K miles your over by about 20K. Since your going to be in there go ahead and replace the water pump.

Also needing replacing, Serpentine belt, Spark plugs, Spark plug wires, anti-freeze, Transaxle fluid, Air filter, Radiator hoses.

If you have a 4 cyl most you can do most of this yourself at very little cost. Don't try the Timing belt unless your an above average do it yourself mechanic.

If its a 6 cyl I'd just have a shop do it all at the same time, the plugs and wires are a pain.

How to connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap on a 1999 mitshubishi galant 3.0 engine

Here you go. As the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 it is simple. Just connect #1 to the #1 location as noted on the diagram, then to the #1 plug, and then as the distributor is rotating clockwise the #2 plug wire goes to the next connection which will be #2 in line and so on. d49a874.png
