1999 VW Passat WagonCar has trouble starting when hot

I'm beginning to feel paranoid going on short trips because it starts great cold, but after a short trip it's taking longer and longer to fire up.
Had spark plugs replaced throddle body cleaned up ( it was dirty) , Have sunk a fortune into what I refer to as my Lemon. I like it but man, it has costed me so much money. Most unreliable car I ever had. Won't buy VW ever again or recommend to anyone.
Now the windows are all not working. Spent summer with just the sun roof working. Windshild washer motor gone. I've given up fixing every problem and have to focus on running the damn thing. Every 2-3 weeks it PRESENTS ME WITH A a NEW IMPROVED COMPLAINT _ ARGHHHH

I have had the same problem and my mechanic cant figure it out. Have you made any progress?

At least DS repair gave me something to go on when I see the mechanic again. I wonder if he can suggest how to fix my electric windows which have stopped functioning since before the summer?
    Thanks a bunch

It satarts fine in the cold but then is harder to start through out the day. Could it be the secondary air pump?

Car overheating, coolant in resevoir cold, radiator top hose boiling hot. overheating problem comes and goes. 1999 VW passat

Check that your electric radiator fan is working. When the car is hot and idling it should come on.

Replace your therostat. I had a Chevy Citation that the thermostat would start to open and then close instead of opening all the way.

2005 VW passat 1.9 TDi "immobiliser activated" on display

There may not be any other way to fix it except to replace your instrument panel. That's where your immobilizer is located. Or you could try this:

Try cold-booting the car. Remove both battery cables from the battery. Short the battery cables together (away from the battery) for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery. No guarantees - I found this info at tdiclub.com.
