I just put hid headlights in my 2001 jeep cherokee sport and when i turn the car and lights off they will sometimes go off and other times stay on. Last night they went off and 5 hours later randomly came on by them self. Could that possibly be my drl module. I really need help. Please any ideas?

SOURCE: How to replace headlights on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

SOURCE: no headlights

You need to start by checking the fuse for your headlights (low beams). The DRL could be be bad, but I have not seen them go out very often.

The circuit load is much higher with the HID lights, you need to rewire the headlights to a large gauge wire.

My 2001 jeep cherokee's headlights come on when no one's in the car.

You have a short in your electrical harness, or a short in the headlight switch. Look in the yellow pages of your directory for auto electric shops. Call at least three shops. Tell them what you are experiencing and get an estimate.

96 jeep cherokee headlights

The headlights are on a relay and maybe its getting weak. I would have it checked and replaced because it could go out and stay out.
God Bless Greg
Oh yeah most of the time it is built into the head light switch.
