SOURCE: Peugeot Partner electrical problem

Take a voltmeter.
remove the connection pin of alternator and check the voltage while engine runs. If in idle running its below 12 volts then there is a short circuit within alternator coil. Replace your alternator.
May be my suggestion can help you.

SOURCE: i need to fit a fan belt on a peugeot 306 estate

just in front of the altenator, there is a 10mm bolt, tighten that and it will tighten the fan belt .
these belts are quite tight, make sure the one you have is the correct length, sometimes the suppliers will send one that is close to the correct size, and is sometimes a few milimeters smaller.

You dont normally have to loosen anything else, but the easiest way is to put the belt on the alternator, tensioner and power steering first, then ease the belt over the ridge of the crankshaft last, one rib at a time, but evenly all the way around the pulley.

My Peugeot Partner has a 1.9 diesel engine. The serpentine belt recently burst so I purchased a replacement but I would like some guide on exactly how the belt should be placed around the pulleys.

If this belt broke then remove the timing covers and check for bit of belt inside around the timing belt before you go any further .its quite easy to refit a new fan belt but they can vary with the year as earlier ones had a manual adjuster but later models are spring loaded so check the timning belt belt first then if ok answer this post and i will scan my alldata book for you as its late and iam going to bed before i fall asleep over the keyboardss

Partner hdi how far beetween timing belts

According to service manual after 80,000 miles in normal use; or 48,000 miles for arduous use. A lot of stop-start driving is known as arduous use. But to be on safe side, give a call to peugeot dealer and all informations are free of charge.
