I PUT A NEW HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP IN MY 6.0 2003 POWERSTROKE IT RAN GOOD FOR TWO WEEKS THEN STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND THEN DIED

Ford had a lot of problems with this engine. Most diagnosis requires a factory software scanner or one that can interface with the FICM module (fuel injector control module) Now you can perform injector buzz test and glow plug tests. If you can get running then also do a power balance test these test check fuel injectors statically and dynamically with the common rail oil pressure control sensor. These FICM modules are famous failure parts. Napa auto can get them.

My Lincoln Ls died for no reason, restarted over and over but wont stay running.Tank has plenty of gas.Car has been kept in excellent condition but does have over 200,000 miles.Love my Lincoln, has been a...

You have a Fuel Delivery Pump & a second Fuel Transfer Pump
in the fuel tank
The tank is large & under the car ,under the rear seat
Have to remove the exhaust system & drive shaft

The Fuel Pump Relay --is in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) as well
as the Fuel Pump Motor Diode

There also is a (REM) Rear Electronic Module
I recall that has a variable speed pump regulator
or whatever

There are even more players there as well

Very complicated system ,that you have no way to even
start on yourself
Doubtful even a repair shop could do much

I have a 2004 LS and all the Factory Manuals & Wiring
Diagrams. Without them your done

Check fuel pressure at rail on engine Should be about 42 lbs

I hace a 2003 lincoln ls v8 3.9l. I was driving

Try taking the exhaust pipe loose at the manifold. I had a Chevy Suburban that acted the same way, it turned out to plugged catyletic converter. The converter wasn't letting the exhaust out, the truck had no power, it would stall and then start right up and great for about five seconds the run rough and quit. Once I disconnected the exhaust it started right up and ran great. You could also try taking the O2 sensors out (for test purposes) ahead of the converter that will give the exhaust a place to go

Starts runs realy rough then dies put new fuel

It sounds like you already solved your problem. Attach fuel gauge to fuel rail pressure line and monitor for fuel pressur (above 30 p.s.i. @ crank). If pressure low suspect pump. If pressure o.k. but dies out and pressure drops but restarts, check oil sending switch as this controls fuel pump. Computer primes pump for start, then oil sender powers up pump for normal operation. Check for oil leaking at terminals on sender. Also check plug connector at fuel sender on tank as they are known to melt and fail. If fuel not problem, check for spark as ignition module failure is common. Have obd2 diagnostic run to check for codes as this may help with diagnosis.

Running rough and wants to die

Have the fuel pressure at the fuel rail checked. If you just want to throw parts at it: Fuel filter by the tank first. Fuel pressure regulator next. Order of ascending expense and likely hood. Does the fuel pump hum louder lately? The fuel pump may be on it's way out. It's not getting enough fuel to do anything but idle. Why that is takes some investigation. Somebody like Auto Zone may check your fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is good, bad spark plug wires are the next guess. Lift the hood and run the engine in the dark (take the light bulb under the hood out if it still works to do this) If you see little lightening bolts traveling over the engine you need new plug wires. If the fuel pressure is good, the wires are good, change the spark plugs. Good Luck!
