I don't think they call it a cigar lighter it is a powerpoint or auxiliary power outlet socket.

Yes, you are correct.

Did you check the fuse? If not the fuse you are looking for is in the passenger compartment fuse panel (see picture of location below). The fuse you are looking for will be in the number 17 position and should be a 20 amp fuse (see picture of layout below). This fuse is also for the cig lighter so they blow often, I hope this is the problem and hope I was able to help. Good luck.

Should be the accessory fuse. The element in the litter is usually the problem. Only last so long before burning out.

Check your lighter socket and remove wire from center on back and see what happens then. Let me know how it goes.

Read your manual .It tells you were the fuses are.. If you use a test light,the terminal at the bottom of the lighter socket is positive and the barrel is ground.Don,t touch the two,or you will need another fuse. The fuse panel is on the left end of the dash.The cigar is #17 and radio is # 20

try replace the element for the cig lighter. our disconnect the cig lighter and install the fuse if it blows again somting beside the lighter is causing your problem kdc744

have the alt tested there not very good do you have 12 volts going to the big wire on the alt and with key on you should have it to a small wire going to the regulator to turn it on
