Have you tried manually unlocking the hatch to reset the security
system?? My 94 grand cherokee limited did not have a key pad to turn system on/off...i have reset it by turning the key in the rear hatch lock to the left twice...see if this works. - SmokeWrench

I have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee manufactured in October 1993. The problem I'm having is that the jeep wont start. At first we had no gas, no spark. We checked crankshaft sensor...it's ok, but...

Try this. Lock and unlock the tail gate with the key and see if it will start. The battery must be hooked uo when this procedure is followed. Whenever the battery is disconnected, the security circuit shuts the ignition down.
When you hook up any battery, make certain that you connect the positive battery cable first and negatvie (ground) second.

Security lites won,t shut off have to disconnect battery

Try turning the door key in the rear door hatch lock, lock-unlock-lock. That should shut down the factory security system.

Jeep will start & but shuts off in a few seconds i think it may be the security system. How do I shut the system off?

I can tell you how to disable the security system, but I can't guarantee it will work again in the future... If interested, read on.
Under the rear passenger seat there is a wire harness. Look for the purple wire with the yellow tracer. Cut it and touch it to a ground point (scrape a spot down to metal somewhere nearby). This should disable the security system. If I remember correctly back to when I had the same problem with my 94 Grand, I actually crimped an electrical connector to the end of the wire and attached it to ground permanently with a screw. I had no security system, but I could drive my Jeep!

94 Jeep Grand Cherokee diagram panel flashes on the "miles to service" message, clock won't stay set. I suspect that at some point my husband disconnected the battery, and the system needs to be reset -...

there are two buttons on the diagram panel screen, push and hold top button and a one of the entries will start to blink, then you use the bottom button to change the entry, when you are ready to move to the next entry push the top button again.

93 grand ltd Stalls after intial start all dummy lights come

greetings: the reason your veh will not run is because the security system has been activated. it will allow you to start it but the security system kills the motor so the veh can not be driven off if in fact it was being stolen. if you have the remote control, lock the veh and then unlock it. this will shut the security system down and return your veh to normal and it should start and run normal. i have a 93 and 94 both worked this way. using the key to lock and unlock to shut the system did not work for me but the remote did the job.also anytime the batt cable is removed, the security system will activate when you put the batt cable back on. then you have to do what i described above on mine to deactivate the security system. the manual says use the key to deactivate the system but that does not work on mine. i hope this helps have a great day wayne

94 Jeep won't start Security system draining battery

Find and pull the fuse. Even aftermarket units have a fuse somewhere. You will need a new battery after you find the problem as starting batteries do not tolerate going flat too many times. They are not designed for it.

Changed battery and no remote control

you may need to call a dealership and ask them about it they are most familiar with their systems and can tell you how to shut it off and possibly tell you how to keep it disarmd
