Obtain a fault code from the obd plug, go from there. If there are no strange noises then control unit is faulty. Stupid thing- is the fluid level ok?

oil filler underneath passenger seat lift back carpet twist knob and remove plate youll also on some models under the bonnet have a oil reserve bottle which should be full or at least 3 quarters full -estima emina 2.2 diesel

SOURCE: JUST CHANGED A TORQUE CONVERTER ON A VW G...

You may have to reprogram the Transmission module. As you know all of VW's electronics are an in house thing . Unless you know a VW Technician.

Hi, the torque converter is in the bell houseing where engine meets gearbox, and the torque converter clutch converter solenoids which controll the fluid for the gears are in the bottom of the gearbox behind the gearbox sump, hope thi was some help all the best.

Toyota 2009 P2770 Open in Torque Converter how to repair?
Since this code in most cases requires the torque converter be replaced I would spend the money to have the dealer confirm this the problem. The torque converter can only be serviced by removing the transmission.

How to unbolt torque converter on a 1kzte engine and to remove engine
there is a cover at the bell housing of the gearbox! remove its bolt then access the thin fly wheel! there are bolts that attach it to the torque converter! remove all as you rotate the fly wheel! pretty simple!
