Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder
Removal
Installation
NOTE: Use new ignition switch lock cylinder bolts. Tighten the bolts until the bolt heads break off. Check for proper ignition switch (11572) operation.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Go to the dealer with the VIN and they can cut a new key to fit the original cylinder.

This car has drillable shear pin screws on the bottom of the lock yoke you must drill these out.
then release the clip to the cylinder. you must get a new set of break-off shear pin head screws from the dealer to finish the job.

Add Duplicate Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)
1. Insert an existing working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key and, within fifteen seconds, insert the new key
and turn it to ON (RUN).
4. The security light will light up for two seconds to indicate success in programming
the key into the vehicle.

disconnect the battery and pull the air bag fuse out to diable the air bag. Remove the steering coulmb trim covers and expose the lock cylinder. If the lock cylinder can be turned and is functional then push in the bottom tab and turn the lock cylinder then pull the whole cylinder out. If the keys broke inside and the lock cylinder is not functional the bottom tab will need to be drilled out.
The ignition key cylinder in a Buick
unlocks the ignition and allows the Buick's engine to start. The
cylinder contains a switch on the end of it (inside the cylinder) that
sends an electric signal to the starter motor. When the ignition key
cylinder fails, the Buick won't start. When this happens, you'll need a
new ignition cylinder. Purchase replacement cylinders from Buick.
