My 02 mustang is stuck in park and i have no brake lights

All indications of a bad neutral safety switch. It's a safety feature designed to prevent you from shifting from Park without your foot being on the brake. If the switch is bad, the car can't sense your foot on the brake to allow you to shift it from Park.

Brake lights won't light up when brake is applied but all other lights work

Without more to go on, I can only suggest that you check out the brake light switch. It will be a mechanical switch located either on, or directly behind the lever of the brake peddle assembly. Basically, the brake peddle is pushed and the lever moves. This will cause the lever to activate the switch, turning on the brake lights. There may also be a brake light fuse. It would be located in the fuse panel, and should be labeled. But, as I said, without specific year and model info that's about as useful as I can be. You can try Google images entering your year, model, and the phrase "fuse panel" to see a picture of your fuse panel. Good luck! I hope this was of some help. Dano

2002 intrepid wont go out of park it has column shift 2.7L runs and starts fine

Your problem is likely the brake light switch or fuse.It is a two part switch. One part for the brake lights and the other for the shifter safety release. You have to depress the brake peddle to move the shift lever.Good luck.

My shifter locks when i've just turned the car on and try to shift from park to drive. It moves to the right a little bit, but will not move down into reverse. Ideas?

There may be a malfunction in the shift interlock sys.
This sys. keeps the shift from being moved from park
unless the brake peddle is depressed. There are 5 fuse's, directly or indirectly related to the interlock system. Fuse #6 15amp in the fuse box under the hood on the left side. The next 4 are in the fuse box
behind the left side of the dash. Fuse #3 15amp/fuse
#18 15amp/fuse #16 20amp and fuse #4 15amp.
Check these first, before you move on to the brake
light switch, under the dash at the brake peddle.
And the shift lock solenoid, under the console left of
the shift lever. Hope this helps.

Can`t locate the fuse for the Brake switch. Brake light not working as well as 4 ways. Also shifter locked in Park

There are 3 fuses related to the problems you mentioned. fuse #13 20amp for the stop lights/fuse #15 5amp for the generic elec. module/powertrain ctl.
module/anti lock brake module and one you need the
shift interlock. Fuse # 28 10amp for the brk. shift
interlock/day running lights/bu lamp/tlr bu lamp and
4wd shift on the fly solenoid. The fuse block is behind
the panel on the left lower dash. You can check these fuse's first. But also, use a 12v test light to
check for power out of the bl switch on top of the
brake peddle assy. There is a red/lt green wire from
the bl switch into the colum to the shift lock actuator
check for power at this wire with brake peddle pushed
down. If the fuse's are good but no pwr. out of the
switch, replace the switch. Hope this helps.

Cant move shifter out of park , brake peddle must be pushed to hard to the floor to release shifter

the most probable cause is a bad brake pedal switch. this is a safety feature on most vehicles, to use the brake before shifting. if putting on a new switch, make sure the switch is adjusted to turn on brake lights when pedal is depressed. hope this helps ya,

Will not shift out of park

Chances are you're parked on a hill. You need someone to push on the car to take the pressure off the parking pin in the transmission. The other possible problem is there is a solenoid the won't release the gear shifter until the brake pedal is depressed. If you are pushing the brake pedal before trying the gear shift there is a malfunction in this system. This is not as easy to fix. If you aren't mechanically inclined I recomend taking that to a mechanic. If you are so inclined let me know and I can help guide you thru the steps.
