How do you adjust low beam headlights on the Grand Vitara mine is a 2006 model and I tried the switch to the left of the steering column and that did not work. Low beams are still pointed too low for night operation.

Joe, It is very likely your LOW BEAM RELAY, they are ONLY $40 Auto Zone or other parts stores. I would have wasted almost a $1000 on parts and labor if my car was not under warranty for all the labor and parts GM certified mechanics wasted replacing a computer brain and the switch on left side of steering wheel. The switch they tried to make me pay for on my second attempt to fix it but but I freaked out on them. My low beams would just go out at any time, very dangerous. This is part # info you need when you go to parts store. You need GM part # 15016745 a.k.a R6100 Mine just says R6100 on the parts box. Look at your manual for its location in fuse box under the hood. It is so simple to replace, a 4 year old could do it. There is reference made on the net by some that Parts stores may tell you the part is a blower relay but ignore that, its for the low beam. Assuming that the low beam bulbs are okay, there is a possibility that your dimmer switch that controls your low & high beams is malfunctioning. This part is on the steering column and may require some disassembly of the column cover to access.

Hello, try to start by checking the headlight relay and headlight fuse. You also may want to check to make sure the bulbs aren't blown out. If those parts check out to be fine and in working order, you may need to replace the turn signal assembly in the steering column. This part controls the hi/low beams. This may sound crazy but, when GM wired their older trucks, they wired the headlights to go from the battery, to the hi/low beam switch, then to the headlight switch (to the left of the steering wheel) then out to the light bulbs. You can kind of test to see if this part is good by making a fist and (with your headlights on) gently hitting the plastic cover for your steering column that is right behind your actual steering wheel. This could cause your headlights to flicker on and off.

Use the adjustment button placed to yhe left of the steering wheel. 0 (Zero) is the adjustment for High.

If your headlight switch is the type you pull out, left of the sterr column on dash, switches tend to go bad, I replaced mine and only had 50,000 miles. try checking headlight relay in engine fuse box first.
