Try greasing the front end and check the air in the tires the indicator is totally different pro--Make sure the coolant is at the proper level. There may have been an air pocket in the system, most time they will work their way out, and leaves the coolant level low. If not, you may need to check for an air pocket.

It's very cold outside, my battery light is on and it's hard to steer my car?

Are you sure that you don't have power steering? It sounds to me like you have a leak in your power steering and low on fluid. The battery light is usually an indication that your alternator is not charging.

Check to see if the belt [ s] are still on the motor. You may have had something seize and break the belt that powers these items. There is also a seperate belt that powers the A/C [ lower right side of engine ].

Does the 2002 regal have a cold motor sensor Car hard to start when cold motor (in the morning )

Your vehicle uses the coolant temp sensor and the intake air temp sensor to determine the engines temperature on a cold start. If one of them is dramatically different than the other it will flag a code.

Is the check engine light on?

When was the last time you had a tune-up? if recently what brand of plugs where used?

Have you noticed any hard start issues after a hot soak? A hot soak would be driving the car until fully warmed up, shutting of the engine for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and then starting the engine again.

2006 Chevy Cobalt. My power steering goes out.

It sounds like the power steering motor is overheating pre maturely. Changing the motor should take care of the problem. What really happens is the motor reports to the power steering module that it is over heating and the module is shutting power to the motor down, the motor is actually no overheating.

High temperature gauge reading, low battery voltage reading

The loud whine you speak of indicates one of two things a bad serpentine belt or alternator, The first thing would be to check the belt.Look for cracks worn spots or glazing. If the belt looks ok then take the belt off and start the engine for a minute or so and listen for noise.

Intermintent starting in cold weather

I had the same issue with a S-10 blazer that by wiggling the key while trying to start the truck the warning lights would come on and the engine would start. We replaced the ignition switch and solved the problem.
