Hello, I drive a 2002 Ford Escape and I It feels as though my car is going crazy and acting on its own lol. When I put the car in drive, it seems to be jerking back and sometimes it does not want to move at all although I have the pedal all the way to the floor. And then there are times when it just wants to speed up and I have to keep my feet on the brakes to slow it down.

You need to have an OBII scan (fault scan) Any good parts store IE: Autozone, Advance, etc.. can do it for you free. Get codes(faults) and address faults. Your computer tracks all faults via sensors.

2002 ford escape "missing"

The first step in diagnosing a problem like this is to have the powertrain control module (PCM) scanned for fault codes, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, you do the test from the diagnostic port under the dash on the drivers side. Also check and verify fuel pressure is in spec. Any local parts store like Autozone or Oreilly can do this test for free.

Need to change alternator

[2002 ford v6 escape]

Here's how:

AutoZone.com ' Vehicle Selection - Year (http://www.autozone.com/addVehicleId,2724101/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c152801e8dd4)
the drive shaft has to be removed, this is a 3-4 hour job to change alternator on the ford escape. if you feel you can do it yourself, then go to any auto parts store and buy a haynes manual for your make and model of your car. these books are based on a complete teardown of vehicle the cost is about 25.00. but it shows you how to repair anything on your car. car. good-day ! or you can check out above link !

2002 Escape. Died yesterday while driving. Will not start. Fuel pump is working... ant ideas??

Crank Sensor? I had a 99 Ford Explorer that died on me in the middle of driving and it turned out to be a bad crank sensor. Check all fuses and relays though just to eliminate the obvious, and maybe buy a repair manual from advance or auto zone. Best of luck!

My car was acting crazy, the check engine light came on, so i had to take it to a autozone where they said i have a misfire coil number 3. I replaced that and the plugs problem not solved.

If it still brings up problems, you have to take it back to autozone so they can have the car checked once more.
If you could give a vivid description of what you meant by acting crazy, i would be able to help you pin point what is exactly wrong with your car and also to provide you with a solution if it happens to be something you can fix by yourself.
Hope this was helpful? Please comment for more information

My 2002 Ford Escape has been acting strange. The

I have the same problem! I also have 2002 Ford Escape and the radio/CD player just stopped while I was driving. It comes on when I start the car but goes off as soon as I put it into gear. My cigarette lighter (where I plug in my phone) also appears to not be working. This just started yesterday, so I don't have a solution. We've had a lot of rain here and my car has been outside. I'm hoping that something may just need to dry out. I'll post if I find something out. Please post any information that you've found!

2002 ford escape tie rod squeaks

My outer tie rod did the same thing when just out of warranty. I could tell it was "bad" by putting my hand on the tie rod while someone else turned the steering a little and I could easily feel the vibration.
Check the other side to feel the difference. Tie rods don't cost that much, if you can replace it yourself, and take a chance on foregoing the wheel alignment. Maybe a $150? job at the shop.
In my case, a tie rod was not readily available. I verified that it was a good joint; no shake or rattle. Then I squirted a little WD40 inside the boot, and put it back together. 70,000 miles later, the new tie rod is still on my shelf waiting for the squeak to return.
