My mechanic told me I need a new power steering pressure switch for my 1994 SR5 4WD V-6 xtra-cab pick-up. I cannot find one to order anywhere on the Internet. Does this part go by another name?

My dad has a 1994 z71 extended cab and the ignition went out in it. I've been told I have to take the steering wheel off but I don't know where to go from there. How do I change the ignition switch...

yes you have to take the steering wheel off, next you will need to take off the round pressure plate that is secured with a C pin around the inner column(behind the plate is a big spring, remove). after that you will need to remove the plastic switches behind the pressure plate. there is a screw on the right that holds in the ignition. after removing the screw the ignition should come right on out. put in the new ignition and make sure to fasten the screw back on. replace the plastic switches and put on the pressure plate (which is very hard to do and remember to fasten it back on with the tiny C clip and make sure that your spring is BEHIND the plate) then bolt back on your steering wheel

I WILL LIKE TO KNOW HOW CAN I REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP ON A 2001 CHEVY MALIBU

1. Remove serpentine belt

2. loosen power steering pressure and return hoses

3. Remove nut from pressure line mounting on alternator bracket

4. remove power steering pump mounting bolts.

5. Lift pump assembly from engine mounting and remove hoses.

6. Reverse order to install. Fill and bleed system.

NOTE: A new or rebuilt power steering pump will most likely not come with a pulley attached. You will need a power steering pulley remover/installer tool to transfer the pully from the old pump to the new one.

I just purchased a 1989 chevy cheyenne but was told the turn signal does not work. I was told it was a switch in the steering column...Is that fairly easy to get to and fix?

To perform this repair you need to remove the steering wheel. there will then bee two or three screws holding the mechanism in place. down towards the bottom of your steering column you will find the wiring that you needs to disconnect. Pull the wiring up and out and install the new signal switch in reverse order.

Vacuum switch on power steering pump?!?!? What does it do??

Your mechanics are either stupid or are playing stupid. Its to raise the idle speed when there is high power steering pressure. Like when you turn the steering wheel, the pressure goes up, and it raises the engine idle speed. Find one in a junkyard, They have U-Pull IT yards around here, you can get one cheap.

1992 toyota pick up extra cab, extra long deluxe... what should the tire pressure be?

The Manufacturer's recommended tire size and inflation decal should be in the door jamb below the latching mechanism on the driver's side door, but if it is not there, 29-30psi front 32-34psi rear. You can go with 32psi at all four corners. That is the pressure i run in my '85 Xtra Cab DLX and it works great.

Hope this helps,

Where is the power steering sensor located on a 1993 ford ranger 4.0 super cab? (or is it called the power steering pressure switch?)

The power steering pressure switch as its called threads in to the power steering pressure hose most of the time it is close to the power steering pump, I have also seen them at the lower point of the pressure hose close to the rack and pinion.
