Replaced clutch then it seemed like there wasnt enough pressure to release it so i have since replaced the slave cylinder no differance so i took a C clamp and worked it in place of the slave cylinder and it seemed to work so i replaced the master cylinder still no differaance what else could it be

Lets say 2 things the clutch itself is worn or it's not releasing the clutch enough from the pressure plate.

I suggest a small test
1. Start engine while clutch pedal is releasing the clutch plate hold the brake pedal at the same time and then release the clutch pedal slowly .
How far is the pedal from the floor

You have to be carefull with the bleeding procedure.
You can bring air into the system and result is your problems

possible failure is the clutch cable or clutch master cylinder ( which ever you have )
if it is a cable the cable wears and strands of the cable jam in the case stopping the clutch pressure plate from engaging
if hydraulic the compensating post in the master cylinder becomes blocked and does not release the pressure to the clutch slave cylinder
The fix will be to replace which ever you have

Not sure if I understand your question. Sounds like the push rod from the clutch master cylinder is pushing the cylinder off the firewall. If that is the case it could be that your rod wasnt fully engage into your cylinder make the rod to long and with enough pressure is popping the clip off the fire wall

I really need more info such as...Mileage,did you do the job yourself,if so was the slave cylinder and or clutch master cylinder changed and did you bleed the system..?...So I will explain without knowing,,...Before a clutch wears completely out we find ourselves constantly working the clutch pedal stressing all clutch system components..In most cases I have looked closely and found slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder leaking ..however the slave cylinder can wear out without leaking..Most importantly the fluid itself wears out every 15 to 20,000 miles.. You don't notice but the fluid gets thousands of tiny air bubbles in it and makes the clutch weak and spongy..(Same with brakes)..You should always bleed system with an assistant just as you would a brake system..,This alone will cause the problem you are experiencing...If you already know that and you have bled the clutch system then you know the slave cylinder is at fault..(UNLESS THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF MISALIGNMENT WITH RELEASE BEARING....YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CHANGE RELEASE BEARING WITH FORK WHEN DOING A CLUTCH SERVICE..)...I assume you did...I would inspect for leaks..,Bleed it again if no leaks...If that don't help and no leaks are found change slave cylinder and or master cylinder.....I hope this helps........Brooks/Metalpoet.......

You need to inspect the feed line if the return line is squezed or kinked in any place it will impede return and the cylinder will seem stuck. If the lines are servicable remove the cylinder and bench test and bleed. it might be a burr left in the cylinder. Also check travel of the pedal without the system in place. Finally When I replace one of these units I have to bleed it out of the vehicle with another person holding the slave cylinder because there is no bleed screw on the slave cylinder. If you removed the little brass screw you broke it. I find there is no way to get out all the air unless the slave cylinder is held verticle with consant pressure applied to the throw arm. Then when bled reinsert into vehicle.

I would check the old slave cylinder against the new, check they are both the same size and that the new one isn't shorter, failing that it would mean taking the box out again and checking the old units against the new, ie height of pressure plates, depth of release bearing etc. Regards Mike

I hate to say this some clutch plates you can not tell the difference from the flywheel side so it will go on backwards ,sounds crazy,but I have seen people put them on backwards all the time and that is what it sounds like considering you have done enough for it to work,FLYWHEEL SIDE XXXXXX

Now you have gone off and confused me. Is it RELEASING late or is it ENGAGING late? Releasing at the top of the pedal is releasing early and engaging late. When you replaced your clutch, did you resurface or replace the flywheel? Makes a BIG difference. I usually recommend master cylinder replacement at the same time the clutch, pressure plate, nflywheel, throwout bearing, pilot bushing or bearing and slave cylinder is replaced. That is the only way to guarantee a trouble-free clutch relacement. The original clutches usually last over 100.000 miles (depending on how it is driven) The replacement clutches will not last nearly that long if a COMPLETE job is not done.

I get undersold on my clutch jobs all the time. But I also get many of those customers back when the other shops do a poor job (clutch, pressure plate, and maybe, a slave cylinder) and the car needs a clutch again in just a few months. It has been a LONG time since I have had one of my clutch jobs come back to haunt me. Sometimes you get just what you are willing to pay for.

Two possibilties. If you haven't yet replaced the clutch master cylinder there might not be enough pressure to fully engage the clutch. If the master cylinder is full of fluid and has been operating properly until now it could be that you only need to adjust the linkage at the slave cylinder to give a little more throw to the pressure plate. Always try the easiest things first. Good Luck!

Manual transmissions do not slip ie. when the gears mesh, there is no slip unless they strip out and make an awful noise and will not pull henceforth.

You probably still have a slipping clutch plate against the flywheel. You need to adjust the clutch petal linkage shaft to allow the pressure plate to be release from the thrust bearing, ie shorten the shaft length.. If you and most likely you do just have the clutch release slave cylinder that releases the clutch when you apply the petal. You need to bleed the slave cylinder of any excess fluid or air that may have entered the line if you opened it at any point. You need to bleed it as you would a break cylinder and this should fix ya.
