There are always screws under trim covers at the door grab handles, the door latch release handle and around the door pocket. Some doors have screws around the outsides and underneath the panel.

Remove door panel

Use flatbar or panel trim removal tool to pry out plastic clips at bottom. There will be screws or bolts holding the interior door handle, probably hidden by a cover that 'clicks' off or they may be concealed. After all clips and fasteners are released, lift panel upward as it hools over the door window well. Note that power windows and locks have wires attached to them. Reinstall is the reverse procedure.

How do I remove the driver door panel on a 2002 cadillac deville

DOOR PANEL REMOVAL

Its just fitted with few screws and hidden lock clips. The clips are very delicate and can break easily. But no worry, the clips are easily available.

On some vehicle models these screws are hidden. Once the panel is loose, don't just pull it out, there are few wire connectors connected, first disconnect the connector plug, then lift the panel out and keep in safe place for re-installing.

Inside door handle R&R 06 fusion

Not too bad a job to do, taking your time it should take 30-45 minutes. You will need a straight screwdriver, phillips screwdriver, a small set of sockets, a clip removal tool also comes in handy.

If you have manual windows, you will need to remove the clip holding the window crank in place. Usually the clip removal tool makes easy work of it by just pushing the clip out from under the window crank handle. If you have electric windows so much the better.

Roll down the window before beginning. Now depending on how Detroit was hiding things, you should look in the area of the door pull for screws that fasten the interior door covering to the door. These might be exposed but sometimes are hidden under plastic caps or trim parts. Very carefully remove this pieces as with age they do become brittle.

Once you are rather sure you have the fastening screws out of the way, using the straight screwdriver to ease the door panel away from the door along the bottom edge. By looking inside you should see one of two methods of fasteners. The older style are simply straight push in plastic clips, you release these by simply putting enough pressure of the panel to pull the clips out. The newer method has a clip that slides down about a 1/2 inch into a matching hole. These panels are removed by lifting up on the door panel and then out.

With the panel off, you can now remove and replace the inner door handle, not much to them usually a couple of clips holding the connecting rod(s) and 3-4 bolts.

Installation is just a reversal of the removal procedure.

I need to remove the door panel on my 2004 Avalanche

There are plastic clips that hold the door panel inplace .. First look for any hidden screws near the door handle . there might be a little plastic cover that you need to remove with a small screw driver to find the screws.. look under the handle also to see if there are any hidden screws . next take a flat blade screw driver and start at the bottom corner and try gently prying the door panel off . try to stay close to the plastic clips not to damage them by prying real hard .. once you have snapped them loose all the way around .. lift up on the door panel to remove it from around the window lip and out it should come.. holler if you have any problems.. usually The mirrors on the chevys are up above the panel and there is a triangle plastic cover over it on the inside .. it will pry off also gently and there are 3 nuts there that need to be removed .. use caution these fall behind the door panel ... holler if you need more. There is what is called birds beeks that hold the door panel to the door, they have a tool to pop them out at any auto parts store. You can use a screwdriver but to avoid damage to the panel its best to use the tool, there not that expensive.

How do itake inside door panal off a 2001 chev malibu

I've done this and it's not too hard but there are a several hidden fastenings.

Start by taking the black plastic triangular trim panel off the upper forward portion of the door. I'm talking front doors. I've never done back but probly very similar. To remove trim panel push lower ft corner rearward to disengage hidden tab. push lwr rear corner forward to disengage hidden tab. pull inward to disengage top. Next take screw out of from behind door handle. Lift out door handle bezel. Release tabs that hold door lock switch asbly. Lift out switch and disconnect from harness. Next take off window crank. Peek btw crank and inner panel. Theres a U shaped hair pin that secures the crank to the shaft it sits on. Find the top of the hair pin and pull it sideways out of the shaft/crank junction. Next is pwr window switch. Use flat blade tool to lift out switch and disconnect connector. Next pry out door handle plug. There are two screws hidden under this dress plate plug. Last is to pry the door panel off the inside of the door. There are about six plastic plug fasteners in the inner panel that plug into holes in the door. Start at the bottom rear corner with wood shim or plastic puddy knife and gently pry the fasteners out of the door. Not fun but can be done!
