Sounds like the door hinges are worn. Determine if it is the hinges or the hinge pin that is worn. It it is only the pins, which is unlikely, you can just replace these, if it is the hinges, the complete hinges will have to be replaced.

Remove the bolts that connect the bottom hinge to the door, then add a couple washers between the door and the hinge. This will correct the "sag" at the back of the door and it's a lot easier (and cheaper) than replacing the pins. Good luck

The bushings in the hinges are worn, you may be able to adjust the hinges ot the latch strickers to correct the alignment. If they are worn badly they may have to have new bushings and pins installed or the hinges replaced.

2008 pontiac g6 drivers window, when handle is lifted the window does not drop the inch or so that it should.

The window indexing feature is used to lower the driver and passenger power windows approximately 4 mm when the door is opened. This is necessary to allow the top edge of the window to clear the window weather-strip. This feature will also raise the window to the fully seated position once the door is closed.
Is just the driver door not working ?
Observe the operation of the driver window and front passenger window while opening and closing their respective doors. The windows should index DOWN and UP when the doors are opened and closed.
? If either window does not index UP or DOWN, refer to Window Index Feature Malfunction.

Window Index Feature Malfunction
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Driver Door Ajar Sw and Door Ajar Switch parameters while opening and closing the driver and passenger doors, the parameter should change from Door Closed to Door Ajar.
? If the parameter does not change when opening and closing the doors, refer to Door Ajar Indicator Malfunction .
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate window motor.
Ignition ON, with the door closed, test for greater than 10 volts between the signal circuit terminal 5 and ground.
? If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
With the door open, test for less than 1 volt between the signal circuit terminal 5 and ground.
? If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
If all circuits test normal, replace the window motor.

Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop (GM dealer )

Why does the power window button blink on and off and the automatic feature doesn't work in the 2008 Toyota Sienna?

NOTE:
Anytime the batteryterminal has been disconnected, please initialize the driver's door power windowand front passenger's door power windowafter reconnecting the batteryterminal.

With ignition switchin the "ON" position, do the following:

1. Push down and hold the driver's door power windowswitch to completely open the window.
2. Pull and hold up the driver's door power windowswitch until the window closes.

Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes from blinking to a constant illumination.
3. Check for proper operation of the "one-touch open and close" function by fully pushing the switch briefly to the "DOWN" and "UP" positions.

At this time the power window switchfor the passenger's door windowshould be blinking.
4. Push down and hold the passenger's door power windowswitch to completely open the window.
5. Pull and hold up the passenger's door power windowswitch until the window closes.
Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes
from blinking to a constant illumination.

How to fix a power window that has fallin in to the door

You will have to remove the door panel for this. Usually the arm rest has a large phillips screw and its usually covered by a trim cap that you need to pop off once its off look for any other screws and then working from the bottom of the door pull gently there are pladtic clips that hold thenpanel to the door. Once panel is off push the panel up and it should come off. The attaching clips probably came off due ti age or a lot of use off the window channel.

Check the door jamb switch. It probably has gone bad or fallin into the body. You should find this little black button in the left front door jamb.

My 2000 Olds Silhouette power door windows will not go up or down when the doors are closed, but they will work when the door or doors are open or ajar.

closing the door is putting pressure on the door glides,, check to see if the door jam is pushing on a misaligned door window frame,, if it is,, you need to realign the doors upper part that houses the window,, this is often caused by someone simply leaning or hanging on the window frame while talking to someone,,

I have a 2001 lincoln ls, the driver's side window has fallin down and can not get back up. How do you go about fixing it?

Have to remove door panel,to get to the Door Window Glass Regulator
I don't know if you want to do this job yourself. There is an inner door support brackets, module assy, and more, that has to come off, just to see into the door cavity.

Back window doesnt roll down properly when you open the door, so I have to push it down a little before I close it. Also the lock bottom for the windows doesnt work.

dis-connect your battery for 30 seconds to do a switch reset on your window, when you reconnect the batt your window will go down, open and close rear door to check lock functions ok first. close rear door and using key or switch inside car close window fully with out stopping, this should reset the window.

1997 BMW Convertible driver/passenger windows won't go down

I had a similar problem with a '95 Olds. Turned out that the wires between the door frame and the driver's side door had broken from the constant flexing of the door opening and closing.
