BMW Z3 WRONG UNLOCK RADIO CODE HOW TO GET THE RIGHT ONE

I just bought a BMW Z3 2001 and find out the radio was locked. I contacted BMW dealer in Canada and provided VIN number and they gave me a 5 digit 56213 code which doesn't work. Since the BMW was bought in the states, should I contact BMW USA? Thanks

I have a 2002 Z3. the radio is lock. I have the code but the radio display is not working. What are the exact steps to unlock the radio?

Does completely pair samsung 4s with my BMW 1series. T
My dealer says it is my phone not the car, it worked with dealers iPhone but not my samsung S4 series. Please tell me what is wrong with the phone. Version wireless just keeps sending me different phones as I had a lot of problems with my samsung phone . I am on my 3rd samsung phone since Nov 2003. Please please help

Yes. If it was bought in the US, it was coded for the US, so have a US dealer provide the code.

Go back to the dealer that told you the wrong number ! I have one and I am currently living in the Middle East but the car was brought from Europe... they have access and can track it down... Tell them that is the wrong code and not acceptable service...I asked to speak to a service mgr and they got it to me.. are you going to have your car serviced there ?? That's the point of paying for dealership service... so they can supply GOOD service and getting you the proper code counts...

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes and a 14 character Serial Number stamped in the metal casing.

Getting the code to unlock the radio requires access to the factory data base, that is restricted and we do not have permission. You will need to contact the dealer for help with this. The original owner was given this code.

I just purchased a 1996 BMW Z3 Roadster for my wife for our anniversary. The radio is locked, I have gone to the local BMW dealer now three times and they still can not help me. The original radio unlock...

Normally the dealer just needs to know the serial and it will give you the code in less than a minute. If the code they gave you doesn't work then the radio unit has been modified and the only ones that know what was modified are the ones that did it.
Just bite the bullet and get a new radio - one with an iPod hookup , your wife will appreciate that.

Dealer thing just take the car down and they will run your vin number and door code to fix your security error code.

Greetings from Maryland. I have had issue with codes before myself, and it appears that ONLY dealers can provide proper coding, usually for free. Once they unlock and engage the radio for you they will give you a copy of the code for your use later. The odds are the NYC dealer provided a bad digit.

I pressed the wrong code for my radio (business cd radio)

1. You have to have the code for the radio which varies by serial # of BMW. I got this code by calling my BMW dealer here in town. They were very nice and gave it to me for free.

2. When you enter the code wrong 3 times (I think) the radio goes into "sleep mode" for 2 or 3 hours of operation. In this sleep mode the radio will not let you enter the code from 1 above.

3. After waiting just enter the code and all will be well.
