Sounds like you have a bad reverse switch,possibly neutral switch if the reverse circuit is built within the neutral switch.you could have a bad wire causing the lights to be on all the time(power worn though touching the wire that goes to the backup lights.

there's a black box under neath the steering wheel behind the panel unplug it it worked for my blazer i had the same problem it took me 2 months to figure it out i changed all the dome light switched and the fuses so i unplugged the black box under the dash below the steering wheel and it works fine now

I have a 1995 Chevy 1500 4.3 v6 trans bands need to be adjusted I have two out of the four gears. Reverse tends to slip but works. How do I adjust the bands. And what side are they on. I baught it as is.

Sounds like a likely possibility, the reverse method definetly did the trick in loosening the brake, but it may still be slightly applied, put it in a warm place when you can, or have a shop look at it indoors, it may need to be re-adjusted, or even just warmed up until the cable frees up again

you need to disconnect your headlight switch if they go out your switch is faulty, if they stay on you will have a headlight relay fitted somewhere, look in handbook, disconnect relay if they go out relay is faulty. hope this helps.
