Check the wires going to the alternator, the large red wire should have 12 volt all the time if not check the fusible link at the starter large post..........the small red wire should have 12 volt all the time if not check the small fusible link at starter large post............brown wire should have 12 volt only when the key is in the run position if not check the charge fuse in the fuse box................good luck
Make sure your belts to the alternator are tight. you mentioned that you had the alternator checked out and it was ok, it still sounds like a diode or voltage regulator inside the alternator.
